Mtv: Robert Pattinson Says End Of 'Breaking Dawn' Shoot Was 'An Anticlimax'

'By the end of it, I think everyone was just like, 'Ahhh, get me out!' he says on 'Regis and Kelly.'

PhotobucketMore than three years after he first stepped in front of the cameras as a golden-eyed vampire, Robert Pattinson wrapped production late last week on the "Twilight" franchise following the completion of the two parts of "Breaking Dawn." So what did the cast and crew do to celebrate the end of a series that has thus far grossed almost $1.8 billion worldwide? Not much at all, it turns out.

"It was a bit of an anticlimax. I finished on a night shoot and then flew right here," Pattinson said Monday (April 18) morning on "Live! With Regis and Kelly." "It was a very long shoot and we were working on it for eight months and it was hard. By the end of it, I think everyone was just like, 'Ahhh, get me out!' "

RPattz departed the British Columbia set and headed to New York for Sunday's red-carpet premiere of "Water for Elephants," his upcoming romantic drama co-starring Reese Witherspoon. That's where MTV News caught up with both stars, during a live-stream interview outside the Ziegfeld Theatre. The next morning, Pattinson was up early and making the talk-show rounds, first on "Today" and then on "Regis and Kelly," where guest host Seth Meyers not only asked the actor about his films but wondered if he'd ever appear on "Saturday Night Live."

"It's terrifying. I couldn't imagine," Pattinson laughed, adding that he doesn't consider himself funny. That sentiment jibes with what RPattz has previously told us about hosting the sketch comedy show. So despite online petitions and on-air pleas from "SNL" castmembers themselves, it doesn't seem likely that Pattinson is going to take on hosting duties anytime soon.

But you never know what's in store for the guy now that his vampire franchise has come to a close. Even Pattinson joked that he's got no idea what his future holds. "I don't know who I am anymore," he cracked. "I still haven't really understood what it is not to be doing 'Twilight' movies every three months."
