Hollywoodnews.com: In a recent post, I discussed the many ways the “Twilight” cast gives back to the community through charity. Now, adding more charitable activity to that list is Michael Sheen, known most recently for his role as Aro, the leader of the Volturi, in “The Twilight Saga: New Moon”. Sheen will have the “greatest moment of his life” when he heads up a Rest of the World football (soccer) team for charity. “Greatest moment of his life.” That is a grand statement for such an accomplished actor. However, it also emphasizes his priorities.
Sheen, who was once offered a football trial, played legendary football manager Brian Clough in The Damned United. He was so outstanding during this film, many of the football scenes needed very few takes. Famously, Sheen only needed one take recreate a Leeds United training session which involved controlling the ball on his head, bouncing it off his chest, swiveling and volleying it into the net.
Way to use your skills, Mr. Sheen.
Michael Sheen can be seen later this month on Craig Ferguson, which tapes on May 27th.
For those planning on attending the match, you’ll also see the likes of famed Chef Gordon Ramsay, restaurateur and host of television’s Hell’s Kitchen . Cover your ears, kids.
