Wait, Who Was Bree Tanner, Again?

We totally flipped the second we heard that new Twilight material would be coming out with the release of The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner. But after coming down from our Twi-high, we realized that we had no recollection of who Bree Tanner even was, just that Jodelle Ferland was tapped to play her in Eclipse. Have a similar experience? Stephenie Meyer brings Bree into the Twilight saga in Eclipse. She's one of the newborns created by Victoria as part of her army to bring down the Cullens. Carlisle feels sorry for Bree and instead of destroying her like the other newborns, he gives Bree the option to surrender. Jane and Felix, on the other hand, have another plan in mind and destroy her...hence "the short" part of the novella's title.
