Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart might keep mum about the most scrutinized relationships in Hollywood, but they are clearly there for each other in the movie trenches.
Or tents, as the story would have it.
Pattinson talked about a touching moment when Stewart was his acting rock during the shooting of Edward Cullen's famous tent face-off with Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) in "Eclipse." The scene is a favorite of "Twilight" fans as the two love rivals are in very close quarters with Bella Swan (Stewart), the object of their affection.
The quarters were actually a little too tight for Pattinson who admits he was "freaking out."
"It was getting so, like claustrophobic or something," the actor who plays cool Edward Cullen admitted. "We were actually shooting in a tent, and I just couldn’t get it together. I kept forgetting my lines and getting so nervous."
"I just wanted to go and punch anyone who was near me in the face."
Stewart sensed this. And though she was supposed to pretend to be sleeping in the scene, she reached out to Pattinson after three botched takes. Halfway through the next take she suddenly opened her eyes and stared at Pattinson in a clear attempt to make him laugh.
"It was the most serious scene, I just wanted to strangle her for the first two seconds," said Pattinson.
But through his suppressed laughter, Pattinson was able to pull off the scene. He chalks it up to Stewart's goofy face.
"I literally got one scene where it was kind of right and it was because of that (look)," said Pattinson. "Which is weird. I was trying to hold back laughter and I guess it made it look more alive or something."
