The Twilight Saga: Eclipse's Daniel Cudmore recently became the latest star of the vampire romance movie series to defend and praise lead actress Kristen Stewart amid media criticism of her public demeanor.
"She’s down to earth, really laid back," the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Monday quoted Cudmore, who plays a vampire named Felix, as saying. "She’s not real bubbly or girly, but she’s great."
The media has often criticized Stewart for allegedly appearing uncomfortable and even sullen in public. Stewart has said shouting by people who want to get her attention at red carpet events has almost driven her to tears.
A national rape victims organization denounced recent comments the actress had made to British ELLE magazine interview, in which when she compared being swarmed by media to being raped. Stewart has since apologized and has also said she's now more comfortable with media attention.
Her Twilight co-star and on-screen love interest Robert Pattinson said he believed those who criticized Stewart over her "rape" comment were coaxed into it by journalists.
Another Twilight Saga actor, Michael Welch, had also defended Stewart, telling OnTheRedCarpet.com that the actress was "sweet" and fun to hang out with, while Chaske Spencer, who plays a werewolf named Sam Uley, said Stewart showcased her "goofy side" by hanging out with the actors who play the werewolves while filming Eclipse.
