Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart were greeted by hysterical fans at the “Twilight Saga: Eclipse” premiere in the centre of Rome, Italy last night. Twi fans were screaming and crying at the sight of the stars.
Stewart was flying without her usual wingman, Twilight hottie, Robert Pattinson, who was tied up filming “Water For Elephants,” with Reese Witherspoon .
That left Taylor to provide the supporting honors, and he more than fulfilled the desires of wild Italian fans.
Both Lautner and Stewart spent a lot of time meeting and greeting fans, posing for photos and signing autographs.
If there is any truth to the rumor that Rob and Kristen are off-screen sweethearts, it wasn’t evident last night.
Stewart and Lautner exuded a special chemistry as the joked and played off each other on the red carpet.
It almost seemed as though Kristen was putting on a show for the fans, given that Taylor is one of her character’s love interests in Eclipse.
She couldn’t keep her hands off her cute co-star, according to reports.
Lautner looked suave in a dark suit, crisp white shirt and tie and Stewart wore a glamorous little black dress that was fitting for one of the most fashion conscious cities in the world. No jeans and tee-shirts for this premiere.
Eclipse centers on a love triangle between Bella (Stewart), Edward (Pattinson) and Jacob (Lautner).
Stewart told Parade magazine that she was “nervous as hell” the first time she had to kiss Lautner.
“One of the most challenging scenes was probably finally kissing Jacob for the first time,’ the actress said. ‘Taylor Lautner and I kissed, it felt like such a different dynamic, I was nervous as hell.”
She went on to say she can relate in so many ways with Bella.
“I’ve always said that I’m not ashamed of anything that I say because I’m always being honest, even though you can definitely make mistakes,” she said. “That’s Bella in a nutshell, so I can totally relate to her.
Stewart also opened up about the pressures of her international fame.
“I’ve definitely relaxed because I’ve like sort of relinquished control. There’s nothing I can do, but who I am, or whatever. It used to freak me out. I still wish I could tell myself to just like calm down, but that’s it.”
