In 1992, host Dennis Miller introduced the world to the MTV Movie Awards. Eighteen years — and far too many wackadoodle stunts, pranks and out-of-nowhere moments — later, the show is still alive, kicking and causing tons of pop culture trouble. And now another one is mere hours away.
Which means barely any time at all stands between you and your favorite celebs in the world — folks like Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Sandra Bullock, Taylor Lautner, Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz, Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Sean "Diddy" Combs, Chris Rock and Adam Sandler. You'll get performances by Katy Perry and Christina Aguilera. You'll get exclusive clips from "Eclipse" and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows." And then there are the awards themselves. "The Hangover" leads the field with six nominations, while both "New Moon" and "Avatar" have been tapped in five categories.
What else is there to say? It's going to be a crazy night, from the red carpet pre-show (get ready for fresh "Jersey Shore" footage!) to the main show to the post-show after party. The carpet gets started on MTV at 8 p.m. ET, which gives way to the 2010 MTV Movie Awards at 9 p.m. and eventually the after-show at 11 p.m. (which will be streaming live on MTV.com).
