Nova Fm: Stephenie Meyer over vampires

The woman who created the Twilight franchise could be the same one to tear it down.

Author Stephenie Meyer is so sick of vampires that she cannot finish her latest tome in the saga.

Comparing it to homework, she said she has hardly written any of the leaked novel Midnight Sun because she is probably the only woman on the planet not feeling it for Edward.

The fifth book in the hugely successful series retells the Twilight story from the perspective of Edward the vampire, not Bella.

"I know that's what everyone cares about. I also know that the right answer would be for me to say 'Oh yah, it's done! And it'll be out next month!' But that's not true," she wrote on her website.

"It's also not true that I've got a ton of work done on it, and that's what I'm working on.

"What's true is that I'm really burned out on vampires. And, I don't want to write it badly. So I want to wait until I'm excited about the material again, and I'm excited about Edward, and that it's something that's motivating.

"So, right now it feels like homework."

Maybe if she doesn't finish it Kristen Stewart can fade into the obscurity she reckons she wants.
