The latest Glee album, made up of musical numbers from the hit FOX show, has beaten the soundtrack for upcoming film The Twilight Saga: Eclipse to take the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
Glee: The Music, Journey to Regionals, the show's fifth collection of hits, sold some 152,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
The Eclipse album, which was released on June 8 and which features music from groups such as Muse and the Black Keys, came in second place with 144,000 units sold.
Glee: The Music, Journey to Regionals features covers of songs the cast sang in Glee's debut season finale, which also aired on June 8, including tracks by Journey as well as Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody". Two previous Glee albums had also reached the top spot in the past - The Power of Madonna and The Music: Volume 3 - Showstoppers.
Christina Aguilera's new album, Bionic, came in at No. 3 with 110,000 units sold. her 2006 album Back to Basics had sold 346,000 units.
