OTRC: Taylor Lautner praised by ‘Twilight: Eclipse’ dad Gil Birmingham

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’s Gil Birmingham, who plays Jacob’s father Billy Black, caught up with On The Red Carpet’s Rachel Smith at the recent Los Angeles premiere of his new film Love Ranch, which stars Helen Mirren and Joe Pesci.

Birmingham had some kind words to say about his co-star Taylor Lautner. “In the first film, I mean he really was a boy," he told Smith. "So I’m just so proud to watch him literally transform into this leading man. The experience is just one of the best I’ve ever had."

He joked, “I always say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.”
As for what fans can expect for next week's opening of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, Birmingham confirms that the film stays true to the beloved book. “Stephanie [Meyer] has written and crafted a wonderful novel and Melissa [Rosenberg] has just toned it down for the time and the space she had to get it done,” he said.
