Review of The Twilight Saga Eclipse

Photobucket

Let me first begin by saying I am in not any way a good writer or particulary good in spelling (lol) so don't expect this review to be pro in any way. This is just my (Jess) personal review of the movie and may not be how you might experience the movie.

I will try to leave the first part as spoilerfree as possible but some might slip through so consider yourself warned before reading on.

As soon as we sit down and the movie starts we are directly thrown in to the action. For all of you that have read the books you all now what to expect and in what order. It all begins with a chase, the creation of what is to become the beginning of the vampire army we've seen in the trailers.

From there it moves directly to the familiar side of the Twilight story...Edward and Bella. They're having a moment talking about will she marry him, will he transform her. As most of you will now we were left with the pending (?) question at the end of New Moon "Bella, marry me".

Note: this review is so hard writing without spoilers !

In the book we are treated to a bunch of scenes we all want in the movie, the proposal, the Jacob/Bella kiss, the tent scene, the graduation party, the graduation and so on and let me tell you...they are all in there but maybe not where and how you would expect them.

The first part of the film was for me (similar to how I experienced New Moon) a bit jumpy...the move from one scene to the next in an attempt to get it all in the movie including all major lines. It sort of bothered me cause it made the movie feel..."light" never going on the depth.

But after one of the scenes the one we are all waiting for...(hitch) I got the feeling it slows down and not in a negative way.

The scenes feel longer and the action is pumped and awesome! This was about where I really started to enjoy Eclipse and love David Slade. He really knows how to work it...the battle, the vampires, Jacob, Edward, Bella...

This is without doubt the most professional one of the three movies so far. The CGI on the wolves is AMAZING. And though many people complain...the make-up and wigs aren't that bad...they really aren't...I hardly noticed Bella wearing a wig.

The one thing I would have to talk negative about is the music. The few times I noticed the score or the music it all seemed so wrong. The score have absolutely no feeling..non what so ever and the soundtrack...I really don't know what they were thinking when they placed the songs in the scenes they did. I really really really don't. This sort of surprised me alot since I considered the scores and soundtracks of Twilight and New moon being so vital to the movies.

And also...I think Bryce Dallas Howard did an awesome job as an actress, yes, BUT she can NEVER replace Rachelle Lefevre as Victoria, and Rachel would have been scary as Victoria, something Bryce never managed to pull off. She looked like Bambi (the Disney Deer u know) with scared eyes and she was supposed to come of as som scary shit monster which she didn't. But no need to complain I suppose.. Edward slayed her...

Alot of the press people laughed alot during the story of Rosalie, jasper and the bonfire. and if David Slade had put Bella and Edward in historical costumes I would have left lol (not really but it is a bit tooo much all stories so close to eachother).

But Before I begin with my spoilers I will say: Eclipse is without a doubt  the best movie so far in the saga. Even if, as I said before, nothing can replace Twilight in my heart but Eclipse definetly erased New Moon from my memory.

If you feel I missed mentioning anything let me know and I'll add it :)

Warning spoilers under the cut!

The Tent Scene: Oh yeah the tent scene...It is warm , it is cute and Edward is just adorable.

Jacob/Bella kiss x2: first kiss is just like we expect it...a bit awkward..Bella hits Jacob after and does a great performance on her hurting the hand...but what was that strange bonk sound when she hit Jacob LMAO. the second kiss is really really good. Yeah I am team Edward all the way as is the movie but it was a really good kiss, long kiss and Bella knows, Jacob knows and Edward knows. It is beautiful and it doesn't destroy anything at all about the movie. I could live with it, so can you.

The Leg hitch: Oh yeah bring it on!!! At some point I was thinking, "how far will they takes this scene? They can't really do it until BD" LOL. You won't be disappointed...well maybe a bit..Edwards shirt never go off. And after whn she finally answers the big question...will she marry Edward or not. And when he lifts her up... The audience is going to scream!

Meadow scenes: I hope I can remember it all...it was alot of no's...or was that in the bedroom scene 1? No I think it was here... Alot of kissing ;) The last meadow scene may need the use of a happy crying tissue. When she finally says let's tell charlie. Man did I smile! It is so perfect!

Sex-talk with Charlie: was fun..also a bit awkward specially when she tells him she's a virgin. I laughed...I won't tell you his comment after she sneaks away but it made me laugh.
Charlie is awesome.

Bonfire: Nothing special really...a mash-up of the long story told in the book. Alot of people laughed...Don't know why. They also laughed during Rosalies and Jaspers stories...don't know why.
