Hey Rob! It’s amazing being with you. Thank you for the interview.
Wow, that’s nice.
What has been like for you, this whole Twilight experience?
It’s been amazing, something I never expected. Three years ago I never would’ve expected to have this life. I’m increadibly busy all the time, I’m always working and traveling all over the world. It’s just wonderful.
What’s it like working with Kristen? She seems like a very passionate girl.
Kristen has always been great, starting with the professional. We have similar attitudes about this business, by that I mean the way we approach scripts and roles and how we work in a movie, you know, we both take things very seriously. It’s all about how far you’re willing to go to have a nice working relationship with everyone.
What was the most complicated thing film for Eclipse?
Probably all the fight scenes. There’s a battle in the end of the movie. The set where we were filming was full of artificial snow that is made of paper and when it gets wet, the floor is slippery and it’s worse than real snow! So after a while it gets very difficult to work there.
What has been the biggest lesson that Edward has taught you?
The same thing my dad told me some time ago. That if you’re nice to everyone around you even after all the success, once the fame dies down, the same people will stay with you.
What is the best part of being an actor?
Probably the everyday work, when you’re working on finding out who the character is and all the extensive research you do that you might find helpful. And it could be anything. Books, art, or just studying people. I think it’s the only profession that lets you do that.
What was your craziest experience with fans?
Probably when I was in Mexico. That experience was very extreme. We were trying to leave the theater where we presented the Twilight trailer, and we couldn’t leave. One girl held on to the car door and wouldn’t let go. The driver just had to drive off just like that. In the end we just laughed.
Do you have anything in common with Edward?
One thing we have in common is that we don’t like to talk much, we just do things. I share that with him. I try not to speak too much.
If you could actually be Edward for one day, what would you do?
I don’t know. Probably spend the day climbing trees and buildings.
What keeps your feet on the ground?
My family. Normal things like that. I have the same friends I always had. My agent and my manager are both great. They never let my ego get too big.
You helped with the Haiti telethon answering phone calls (Note from Vale: No he didn’t) what was it like helping make a difference in the world?
It’s great. I’ve always felt like when you’re famous you actually spend a lot of time thinking about fame, and all the things that you have to deal with, but then you realize you can do good things with that. I hope I helped the people in Haiti in any way.
Are you trying to inspire other people now?
I don’t know, I’m trying. I just think that if you work hard enough, that works for you. Hopefully I can inspire people in a positive way, and hopefully that’ll turn into something good for the world. I don’t think you should judge yourself too harshly and see what you’re doing for the world and how much you’re inspiring other people. Let other people figure that out for you.
Is there a wish you have that you want it to come true?
An album.
Where you this hot in school?
In school?? Nobody is hot in school! (laughs).
