Anthony Hopkins, Matthew Rhys, Michael Sheen, Sian Phillips, Eddie Izzard, Rhys Ifans, Jonathan Pryce, Terry Jones, Damien Lewis and Helen McCrory are among the theatrical figures included in celebrity photographer Cambridge Jones' exhibit on display through Nov. 27 at the The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts.
The exhibition, entitled "Talking Pictures," features celebrities who share Welsh descent. Other figures included in Jones' photography include Robert Plant, Owen Sheers, Bonnie Tyler, Dame Shirley Bassey, Emma Griffiths, David Gray and Bryn Terfel.
Jones, often described as Britain's answer to Annie Leibovitz, "used a camera at an early age to document his life and affirm a Welsh heritage. Here he tags celebrities who share his roots." Supplementing the photographs, each of the creative personalities in the exhibit recorded an audio response to the question, "Tell me who or what inspired you in your career?" This marks his first major exhibition in the United States.
