The project, with its love triangle and young characters, is being described as yet another potential "Twilight" for Disney. The Mouse House previously picked up the rights to "Fallen," another sequel-ready tome about a girl torn between two fallen angels. Marc Ciardi and Gordon Gray are producing that pic for Disney through their Mayhem Prods. shingle.
Either way, it's the latest property that Disney is looking to add to a growing slate of films that surround its bigger-budgeted tentpoles and appeal to different demographics, in this case the lucrative young female demo that flocked to Summit's "Twilight" franchise and regularly tunes into the Disney Channel. Disney is developing the comedy "Prom" for that audience.
