Kellan Lutz: " Emmett will be more relevant in 'Breaking Dawn' "

In a new interview (translation available here), Kellan Lutz has talked about what Twilight fans can look forward to from his character in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.

"Emmett’s character will become more relevant, as it happens in the book, and opened a little door that will allow us to see how Emmett is".

While “Emmett” had a few vital scenes in Twilight (most particularly, guarding “Edward” and “Bella” on the truck while they fled “James”), his part in The Twilight Saga: New Moon was very small. In Eclipse, though, we got to see a bit more of the character in action (as he has an important showdown with “Paul” at the La Push line – which, thankfully, we got to actually see in the film version of the story). Still, “Emmett,” unlike “Rosalie,” “Jasper,” and “Carlisle,” didn’t get a full-on backstory in the books (though there was an outtake on Stephenie Meyer’s website from Twilight).

So, it should be interesting to see Lutz get some prominent screen-time in Breaking Dawn. There are two scenes which come to mind from Breaking Dawn that’ll really make Lutz’s portrayal pop – the “arm-wrestling sequence” and all his “Honeymoon talk” with “Edward.”

Lutz also talked about his excitement over Bill Condon directing the film.

"I love his work, I’ve seen all his movies and I really look forward to meeting him and the great team working with him, I’m really looking forward to working with him."
