Last night, two separate but significant awards events took place - the 53rd Annual GRAMMY Awards in Los Angeles, California and the Orange British Academy Film Awards 2011 in London, England - and at both events, Twilight Saga musicians were honored.
For starters, the GRAMMYs were attended by several Twilight series soundtrack musicians, including Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine (contributed "Heavy in Your Arms" to The Twilight Saga: Eclipse's soundtrack), Paramore ("Decode" and "I Caught Myself" from the Twilight OST), Vampire Weekend ("Jonathan Low" - Eclipse OST), Cee-Lo Green ("What Part of Forever" - Eclipse OST), The Black Keys ("Chop and Change" - Eclipse OST), and Muse (included on all three Twilight series soundtracks so far).
Cee-Lo Green, Florence Welch, and Muse were performers, and several of the above were also winners of the night's awards. Below are the Twilight Saga soundtrack contributors' wins:
Urban/Alternative Performance: "F--- You," Cee Lo Green
Rock Album: Muse, The Resistance
Rock Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals: The Black Keys, "Tighten Up,” Brothers
Alternative Music Album: Brothers, The Black Keys
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse was nominated for Compilation Soundtrack Album for Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media, and the producers of the album were interviewed at the event, but Crazy Heart went on to win it.
Meanwhile, at the BAFTAs, Alexandre Desplat - who composed the official motion picture score for The Twilight Saga: New Moon) picked up the award for "Original Music" for his work in The King's Speech.
