'Cineplex' Talks To Bryce Dallas Howard About 'The Help'

Fiery-haired kin-of-Hollywood-royalty Bryce Dallas Howard has long carved a place for herself away from the significant shadow cast by her multi-talented old man Ron Howard and has worked with the likes of Clint Eastwood, Sam Raimi, Lars von Trier and even dipped into the mania surrounding the Twilight franchise when she took over the part of Victoria in Eclipse.

But despite a varied resume and her short run as a bad vampire, Howard has tended to play kind-hearted characters and pulls a believable 180 in The Help to portray Hilly Holbrook, an "awful woman" in the actress's own words.
The film takes place in the Southern U.S. during the '60s with hot-headed, prejudiced Holbrook lobbying for the African American household "help" to be forced to use designated, separate bathrooms in white homes and has the kind of utilitarian rule of the neighbourhood that no one would dare oppose. Until someone does.

We recently sat down with the mother-to-be to talk about playing a character she couldn't relate to and what audiences can expect from the big-screen adaptation of the Kathryn Stockett bestseller.
