Taylor Lautner wants credit for his matchmaking skills. His “Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1” co-star, Nikki Reed, told us Lautner “seems to think he deserves a lot of credit” for her marriage to “American Idol” contestant Paul McDonald last month.
Reed, who attended the Cinema Society screening of the latest “Twilight” with her husband on Wednesday, explained that “Taylor is really into ‘American Idol’” and convinced her to begin following the show. So the brunette beauty was fully briefed when she met McDonald at the premiere of “Red Riding Hood” last March, and things progressed from there.
The newlyweds attended the DKNY-sponsored screening at the Landmark Sunshine Cinema, and stopped in briefly at the after-party at Sons of Essex. Her co-star Ashley Greene stayed longer and ended up fighting off the advances of a handful of flirty male lunkheads.
AMAR’E STOUDEMIRE and Fabolousjoined forces for a real smoker of a birthday bash on Wednesday evening. A source tells us the Knick and his rapper pal held a private dinner for 40 at Catch in the Meatpacking District. The “Boardwalk Empire”-themed soiree featured a professional cigar maker who hand-rolled stogies for guests and keepsake cigar cutters engraved with both men’s names.
Rapper Trey Songz , DJ Clue and Indianapolis Colt Dwight Freeny joined Fab, 34; Amar’e, 29; and Amar’e’s older brother, Hazell Jr., at the rowdy main table of the Remy Martin-sponsored bash. Our insider says Hazell toasted the birthday boys, noting that “Loso” (Fab’s nickname) was like a little brother to him as well.
Around 12:30 a.m., Fab declared “Let’s go party!” The group, including Adrienne Bailon, Russell Simmons, Jessica White, hit Catch’s Rooftop until well into the morning.
