It's hard to imagine Kristen Stewart as a woman with weight and/or body image issues. However the slender, beautiful Twilight Saga star who is also heart-throb Robert Pattinson's much envied girlfriend recently admitted that like most women, she has fretted about her weight. And oddly enough, her latent body image issues were awakened and exacerbated by her work on her last Twilight movie Breaking Dawn.
Although Kristen Stewart claims she had fun filming the pregnancy scenes in Twilight: Breaking Dawn, she admitted in a recent interview that she also felt uncomfortable with the jokes people made about her "pregnant" belly. K-Stew claimed she had "surprising feelings" while filming the pregnancy scenes.
"It's Funny when we first started I was able to joke about it," Kristen explained. "But then I got really...only I decided when it was OK to be funny about it. It's weird — it totally did affect me!"
It's interesting that Kristen Stewart was so affected by the jokes about her belly and her weight gain since she wasn't really pregnant. Nor did she, presumably, gain 20-30 pounds of ugly blubber as some actresses have been forced to do for a role. Charlize Theron's monstrous weight gain for her role in Monster, comes most immediately to mind. It sounds like K-Stew may have had some weight and/or body image issues even before she became involved in the movie. Of course, in Hollywood where thinner isn't just the best way to be, it's the only way to be, that's perfectly understandable.
