ACTOR Michael Sheen is currently treading the boards as Shakespeare’s troubled Hamlet at the Young Vic and it seems that since taking on the role he can’t stop bumping into fellow thesps who have played the Prince of Denmark.
“At the first night party Mark Rylance, a former Hamlet, came over to say something to me,” Sheen, 42, tells The Stage.
“I met Alex Jennings getting a coffee, then Simon Russell Beale, then Rory Kinnear and finally John Simm.”
But he hasn’t been taking advice from them. “When you’re playing a part like Hamlet you can only bring yourself to the role,” he says.
