@Joletapias good! Really outdone himself! #belami
@PattinsonPost one of his best :-) but although good, I like him more in other characters.
@atiaofthejulii1@pjann21 overall acting was good. And no I don’ think she was overacting. It’s the accent.
@PattinsonPost a shock at first! Not what we know of him! Definitely not edward!
Bel Ami was great. Robert Pattinson was great. Evening was great. Goodnight. #belami
 @PonytailStew

Guys, prepare yourself if you’re going to see Bel Ami. That shit is hot! #belAmi
Rob’s performance does things to the lady parts, that much I can assure you!
MORE THAN TRUE! RT @AnythingRobsten: Bel Ami isn’t epic because of Rob’s ass,only. He is excellent in that movie.TRUE
Rob’s performance in Bel Ami is extraordinary. It’s something totally different than what we’re used. It’s amazing! #BelAmi
@LaraaCastro Yeeees! It’s alsdjmfqklsdjmfqkljsfklqjs! It’s so fucking hot, I can’t even *-*

@NewmoonVampire1 English :) All English :)
Oh, and I’m disappointed Rob didn’t speak French :( You’re in Paris for christ’s sake!
@luzlamp Hmm, idk… It’s a really good move, but I don’t think it’s Oscar material. But I can be mistaken though.. I can’t really tell…
That awkward moment when suddenly everyone wants to live in Belgium :’)
@BadassStewart You won’t be disappointed ;)
I should go to sleep, but there is too much Bel Ami going through my mind :’)
@Charmedsuper Naked from the back in one scene and but crack in another

OMG!!! BEL AMI WAS THE SHIT!!!!!!!! OH LORD SO GOODDDDDD
I don’t want to spoil anything, so if you want to know anything, I’ll DM it to you. Just one thing.. you’ll see Robert’s naked ass.
@Merylouuuu IT WAS GREAT! I’d say it’s Oscar worthy. Such a good performance of all the actors. Completely blown away by Rob!
@theMwagon IT WAS INSANE OH LORD. Robert has such a sexy ass lol
This may be one of Robert’s strongest performances. Loved him in this film! #BelAmi
@Merylouuuu It’s not close to the book though, there are some big scenes that are the same, but not so much!
@theMwagon his naked ass is just so sexy lol. And he fucks + kisses a lot, but after all, I think it’s such a good film with a good story!
@Merylouuuu Well, they can’t give any bad critics on this film.
@theMwagon yeah, it’s just so unffffffffff, so many times lol he has this lovely smile all the time and just the way he speaks unf
@honeycat22 Nope, I didn’t. But I’m sure there will come some pictures soon. A girl has been filming a lot of parts!
Someone has filmed a few parts from Bel Ami, so I’ll keep you updated. #BelAmi

The movie ended… hnnng Rob wasn’t lying when he said his buttcrack was in this movie #BelAmi
I’ll give the rest of my thoughts on the movie when I’m at home but Rob was suuuper sexy #BelAmi
@cybermelli full ass actually LOL
Omfg hahahaha RT @CalliopeBlabs i’m probably the only one sitting here, wondering if rob had to shave his ass…. bc that man is grizzly.
Oh and AngryRob is such a turn on hnng #BelAmi
@tashpalo Hmm I can’t really answer this, since I haven’t read the book, so I’m not sure how unlikeable he is supposed to be, but I do feel>
@tashpalo like they cut out some parts of the movie, because it felt like there were some parts of the plot missing
I wouldn’t dare to film in the theater. Don’t want to get thrown out and pay a fee for stealing
I see why the movie would get an R-rating in the US

@JulieM1288 i diiiiiid :D I especially enjoyed Rob’s performance hnng
Can’t believe I took my mom to see this movie lol :P My cheeks were burning red at some parts haha #BelAmi
Apparently my aunt didn’t like Bel Ami that much, she was there too. And she’s a Rob fan as well. I guess you can’t please everyone
@JulieM1288 Yeah, it’s a good movie. Of course, it’s a period movie and you have to like it, but I do think they cut out a lot of scenes >
@JulieM1288 in order to make it more about Rob you know

@OhSoRobsessed
JUST BACK FROM BEL AMI WITH @JeSuisLinnie@BikiniStew@AdoringStew@iHeartBadasStew@MidnightSunSC17 and @RedEyedPneh :D :D :D
There was this girl filming scenes in the theatre,so don’t be surprised if there are leaked scenes all over the internet tomorrow :/ #BelAmi
Sexy thrusting Rob was sexy. yep.
Let’s say most people in the theatre were about 40 years old. All women. They had no idea how exclusive the moment was. #BelAmi

@NissaStew Yeaah :D And some thrusting Rob and stuff, really just great :D I’m sure you’ll enjoy! (;
*SPOILER* Rob’s face when he looked at the 3 women sitting around the table, thinking “I’ve done them all”. Oh, just epic. #BelAmi
@SkylarLSpencer They were just random women, most of them were like 30 or 40 or even older… It was a special event for women only.
I still can’t believe that we Belgian fans (there are like 15 of us, lol) have seen Bel Ami now before the rest of the world. Mindblowing.
I really do feel sorry for the ones who haven’t seen Bel Ami yet. You have no idea what you’re missing, dudes (‘:
@MrsRobCullen It was great, really (: And some epic sex scenes too (;
That awkward moment when living in Belgium is a good thing.
I wonder if there were a lot of people coming to Belgium only for Bel Ami. I’ve heard some foreign languages though.
 @JTorres1970 Ikr? :D It was just great! (:

@JTorres1970

@imTulip all the three leading ladies were exellent too!
@imTulip@Alice_InTwiLand RP performance in BA was great I saw some very strong scenes!!! It was “a new” Pattinson I saw
@Alice_InTwiLand i do now understand the difficulties with distribution
@Alice_InTwiLand it s a period peace which doesn’t appeal to big adiences
Robert Pattinson did some great acting in #belami I (as a fan) never thought he was capable to!!
@imTulip the crowd was there for a film night it was a filmloving audience and not just RP fans
@imTulip the overall opinion is that is was great acting but not everybody liked it, it is no feel-good movie
@imTulip it was RP best performance> I believed him from shot 1 and never thought of any other character he ever played! He WAS George

Holy fucking shit. I’ve just seen Bel Ami, and HOLY FUCKING SHIT! Can’t think straight right now!
For those who do not want to be spoiled, all I’m gonna say is that Rob’s performance is extraordinary! It’s something so different than what we’re used of him and he fucking nailed the part! That man can act! (Not that I didn’t know that already!)
For spoilers —> read more
HOT, NAKED ROB! Do I need to say more?
Yes, we get a lovely view of Rob’s well trained but. *drools*
I swear I was almost drooling throughout the entire movie.
There were about three or four (Sorry, I lost count. Don’t blame me, this movie was too much to handle!) mayor sex scenes! (YES, MY DEARS, WITH THRUSTING!) The first one ‘s already after five minutes. Dear god, me was not ready yet. AND IT’S HOT!
And Uma, HELL TO THE YES! Let’s say she almost raped Georges! Hilarious scene though! Rob’s face is so hilarious, I can’t even!
I did feel bad for Clothilde (played by Christina Ricci) She’s an amazing actress!
And when George gets mad. ASdklfjqsmdfjmqldfjq, *Dead*
Rob’s performance is amazing! It’s so different from what we’ve seen of him so far. And I like it. Bye good image, ‘cause George Duroy is one smug bastard!
So prepare yourself before you go see this movie! THIS SHIT IS HOT!
@bikinistew Review:
- BEL AMI REVIEW FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO READ IT.-
First of all, I want to say that all the actors did an amazing job on this film. For the people who loved the book, the film may dissapoint a little bit, because they don’t stay close to the book. There are a few scenes that are in the film who were in the book, but it’s not so close at all. But after all, the film is really great. A must watch!
So the film contains some nudity, we all knew it was rated R, a lot of sex/kissing scenes,.. . I think this is one of Rob’s best films, simply because he really did a good job. The part where he gets all crazy and mad because it seems like he loses everything, may be the strongest part of the film, in my opinion. He’s raging all the time, smashing some glasses against the walls (which you may have seen in the trailers too), He throws women on the ground and so on,..
For those who haven’t read the book, it all starts with George who’s actualy poor and he gets offered a job as a writer for a paper. For this he gets the help of some beautiful ladies, who he seduices. Clotilde is the one he really falls in love with, and it’s actually cute to watch them play together in several scenes. Afterwards the man of Matilde dies (played by Uma Thurman), and he grabs his chance to marry her. After they’re married, he still goes to the other 2 women.
At once, everything seems to go wrong and he gets completely crazy. And after all, Clotilde still returns to him. The film ends with George marrying the daughter of Virginie ( the third woman he seduiced).
The film has a length of 105 min. If you have any more questions, don’t hesitate to ask! :)
@Aeval_ Additional Thoughts:
So #BelAmi (SPOILERS)…Oh and minors might want to look away lol. First I will give you some details on Rob’s nudity. The full naked butt scene is one of the first scenes in the movies. I think it’s with some prostitue, I’m not sure. It’s in a dark room and you see the sex from above, his full naked back and butt, there was DEFINITELY thrusting not just the tip LOL. Then there were some sex scenes with Christina Ricci. Mostly like the ones we saw in the trailer, you know the ‘i missed you so much’ sex scene. You get to see more thrusting and his super sexy back again. Then those are kinda the last of the graphic sex scenes, but Rob is just overall so incredibly sexy in this movie. The sex scene with Uma Thurman is pretty weird and no nudity in that one.
The movie itself was good, but I feel like they cut out a lot of the storyline in order to give Rob more screen time and so I feel like the movie had more potential. But that’s just my humble opinion of course.
Some more thoughts on the acting in #BelAmi. I think Rob did a very good job, he plays angry and frustrated very well. He wasn’t very likeable, which was how it’s supposed to be, if I understand what the book is about( I haven’t read it) Basically, he’s an ass. In one scene he threw Kristin Scott Thomas on the floor, and it was just so well done, scene like that must be hard to act. When he gets angry at those guys for going behind his back and throws him out of the house, it’s very believable. We see part of this in the trailer. He didn’t remind me of Edward at all in this movie. Uma Thurman has such a lovely voice. She’s was great. I loved Christina Ricci, she did an amazing job.
 @OhSoRobsessed Review:
So Bel Ami was AWESOME :D Quite some sex scenes (and thrusting Rob, obviously). I haven’t read the book yet, so I can’t really compare the storyline, but I thought the storyline in the movie was really good. I don’t want to tell spoilers so I’ll just shut up about the storyline (‘: Oh and Rob’s acting was great, of course. Like really, everything looked perfect. But that’s what we expect from him, right? (; And, not to forget, he looked really hot. Like, REALLY hot. The last scene was just like… BAM. GOODBYE OVARIES. Yeah, it really is one of my favourite Rob movies now (:
Okay you can’t really see this as a review of Bel Ami, I suck at writing reviews, you see. But I just wanted to share this with you guys, and I’m really looking forward to the moment you can all watch it and we can all be excited together :D
Oh and @JeSuisLinnie, @AdoringStew, @iHeartBadasStew, @BikiniStew, @MidnightSunSC17 and @RedEyedPneh, thanks for the amazing day ;D <3
Love, a lucky Belgian girl, @OhSoRobsessed (:
BlackBeanie from ROBsessed:
The setting was done very good, the Paris society is shown really well.
The most important perhaps: Rob and Georges.  I’ve read the book twice so I know Georges a bit and for me Rob was Georges, 100%
You could see how he evoluated from the poor, uncertain and penniless guy to the more calculated man who used his charms, who denied that money was important to him but all his actions were directed to become rich.  Rob plays every part of Georges, sometimes he’s boyish, sometimes he’s cruel but stil he gets your sympathy because his actions are done in a playful way.  He got my sympathy in the book too.  Don’t think they made Georges better in the movie, no they made him a looser until the end.  The scene where he realized that he was screwed up by Laroche and Mr Rousseau is very impressif.  Then his revenge. Also:  in the close-ups of Rob you could almost predict  how Georges was gonna react.
To judge Rob’s performance you have to know Georges and critics don’t intend to read the books so I don’t know if they’re gonna give Rob good reviews, I don’t trust them anymore.  Rob showed a lost of emotions, that’s for sure.
Katrien from RobsteNation:
OK,Guys….just got back from BEL AMI!!!!I don’t want to say too much…but expect a COMPLETELY different Rob.The movie was good but it took me some time to get used to his caracter….and I saw his totaly naked butt twice!!!!The sex scenes weren’t too much (I was a bit worried about it at first) His caracter is soooo different from what we are used to ,no Edward ,no Tyler and no Jacob at all but he really did it so well!!Kristen will be so proud of him…he can play anything!This movie proves it!
Alexana from ROBsessed:
Here is my review: First, sorry for my english ^^ Then, forget about love scenes in Remember me, Breaking dawn and Water for elephants. Because Bel Ami is where the love scenes are hot. Like really hot (even if there isn’t as many as I thought there would be). And we can see his full butt. But what is amazing is Rob’s performance. It’s as awesome as in Little Ashes (but LA is still his best for me). It’s refreshing to see him actually make expressions compared to Twilight where he’s mostly expressionless. He has a great chemistry with all the actresses, I love when he’s with Christina! And it’s pretty close to the book, which is even better.
Robdandy from ROBsessed:
Just got home from the cinema…………….and WOW! diving into the DR now.
He was amazing. Well beyond amazing……….sigh.
It is defenitly R-rated (we get to see some Robass :D )
He truely is an amazing actor (which we allready knew, but no critic can be critic about this one)
I had a really great night and I’m going to have sweet dreams tonight………….sigh
He is strong, angry, loving and sweet all at once……….
oeh……what a man what a mighty mighty good man……….
Marie from RobsteNation:
I don’t do twitter, so this is my review here… Where do I begin? I LOVED it. That’s probably a good start… Rob is so very good in this movie. The way he portrays Du Roy is spot on from the very first scene where he cracks when living in squalor right to the final shot when he emerges triumphantly from the church with the sun on his face like some divine light. DuRoy is an utter bastard with no redeeming qualities. He’s a failure and up until a certain point he’s not clever enough to understand the way he’s being played by everyone. He uses and manipulates everyone and doesn’t even deny it. Yet Rob manages to make this character fascinating to watch. I wouldn’t go as far as to say you sympathize with him (and that wasn’t the intention of the filmmakers), but you can’t help but be in awe of the sheer audacity of this guy. You can’t help but chuckle at the situations DuRoy gets himself into and at the way he manoeuvres himself out of his various predicaments. As the movie progressed , quite a lot of the audience was chuckling actually. Rob really shines in so many scenes. He’s just brilliant in scenes like the discussion of the inheritance of his wife (I absolutely love all his scenes with Uma Thurman. They work so well together, so engaging), or when his world is crashing down. His discomfort at being thrown into high society is palpable, yet subtly played. The seduction of Kristen Scott-Thomas in a church is just riveting to watch, as is the scene where he finally rejects her. If I have to say one small negative thing, it’s that his repulsion with her is perhaps laid on a little bit too thickly in the scenes before the break-up. But hotdamn, he sure knows how to handle a woman decisively (no dithering in bedding her)…. Christina Ricci is lovely in this movie and I really like her scenes with Rob. And Rob is just adorable with kids. Period. The scene with Christina’s daughter is so sweet (let me rephrase: he is so sweet in it). I think they cut some bits, which is a shame because at about two points the movie makes a bit of a jump. Would have been nice to see one extra scene with Holliday Grainger between her really noticing him and the ‘elopement’. But having said that, the film has a really good pace and you can’t help but be riveted by the jaw dropping rise through society of DuRoy (especially the methods are jaw dropping). So: a really great performance by Rob, Uma is really very good and keeps the throaty voice throughout the movie, Christina and Kristen S-T are also great. Glad to say that the guy playing Forestier (Glenister I think) is not overacting in the film as I initially feared based on the trailer. If anything, the trailer doesn’t do the actors justice (all of them). The film’s better! And lastly: phew… DuRob is seriously hot and had me blushing on more than one occasion. Let’s just say that everything that got cut from the Breaking Dawn honeymoon scene is in here. No painting over anything and there’s some serious leashless thrusting going on. My mouth literally dropped open when that happened the first time. Had to remember to close it after that scene with Natalie Tena (who plays a prostitute). And Rob, sweetheart, there’s nothing wrong with your back. It’s not too long, don’t worry… :)
blackbeanie Thoughts from Rob’s IMDB message board:
I think the performances of the ladies were very good, very strong. Their characters were a bit more explicit as in the books: Madeleine as a feministe, Mme Rousseau (Walter) as neurotic, and Clotilde as a sweet, charming woman.
Too early yet to rang it on my list, I’m a bit too overwhelmed. Also it’s a very special movie, so different from his previous ones. I knew it was gonna be ’cause I know the book.
The movie ended just like in the book and people seemed to be amused by the reaction of Mme Rousseau. I also think that most of the audience wasn’t familiar with the book so they didn’t expect this ending.
For me: the ending was a bit rushed, the whole thing about Suzanne wasn’t explained enough.
The company I was with had a few questions to ask and found that it was sometimes a bit difficult to follow the storyline when not having read the book. I can understand this.
IMO Rob nailed Georges, but I wasn’t surprised by this. He shows different aspects of his personality just as in the book. His performance was very well and in some scenes he was brilliant f.e. the scene where he gets really angry, at the notary. He sometimes is really comic too.
Hard to say, I think with Christina because she was the only one Georges really loved. You all probably know already that in the beginning of the movie you see Rob nude from the back, ass and all. That was a surprise, didn’t expect it so soon.
And it was a very nice view:).
There was also a very weird sex scene (no nudity) with Uma that I think was not in the book, it was like what the *beep*
Rob was strong in the sex scenes of course, but also when he was very angry, that was so believable. And he was comic too at times, he really should do a comedy in the near future.
Watching Bel ami I again realized how difficult it is to tell a book story in 2 hours. My company, who hadn’t read the book, liked the movie a lot but found that there were a few gaps that made it difficult to follow the story. That was so in the end were the kidnapping of Suzanne wasn’t explained enough and it seems that the audience thought that Georges would take revenge on Mr Rousseau by marrying his daughter. The mean reason was though to get entrance to the fabulous financial capitale of the Rousseau’s.
I also found the sex scenes a bit too rushed. They were good and certainly assured an R-rating but I’d have liked them a bit more slowly and intense, but on the other hand there was a story to tell and you get only 2hours, so no complaint.
Difficult to answer, it’s so a question of personal taste. There was chemistry with Clotilde IMO. Christina played her role very sweet and loving and he did too to her. His relationships with Uma and Kristen were as they were described in the book. Especially with Kristen you could see how Georges had calculated everything, there was no need for chemistry but their scenes were very good.
In general: the way the three ladies reacted on Georges was very well done, comic at times and it wasn’t disturbing at all seeing Rob with the ladies, no dissonant. They showed nicely how he ‘played’ between them.
It wasn’t that they were having sex, but how (!!) they were having sex.
This is not shown in the movie.
Other scenes that were left out: the duel scene which is good IMO, and the scene where he goes with Mme Rousseau and her daughters to a charity event. Also the visit at his parents is left out.
This was all needed ’cause otherwise they had to rush more the important scenes.
Exactly, Tiggerama. Perhaps it was also in the book but I don’t remember anymore. It was done in a bit humiliating way to Georges.
I had the impression that it was pure calculating, can be wrong though.
Yes that is in the movie and when Suzanne turned her head towards him, the audience started laughing, they knew what was coming. It was the kidnapping idea that was a bit unclear to those who hadn’t read the book.
Also: the relationship between Georges and Mr. Rousseay was more hostile than I remember from the book, also between Georges and Forestier.
As I said: the characters and their relationships are a bit more explicit, which was good to make things clear.
It was like she raped him or he felt like being raped
I tried to, there were like 700-800 women, most young ones starting from age 18 till older women. I heard a woman say that she prefered empty comedies to this, but other women found the movie good.
After the movie had ended I saw women discussing the end and also when leaving the theatre I heard them talking about men having affairs with women. I think the story left an impression with a lot of women but it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.
I think when it hits theatres the reviews will be mixed which is not surprising because of the rating, the story, the period.
It surprised me in a good way how natural Rob is in his nakie. There’s a scene where he wears only his pants but it was like he was clothed. I think it wouldn’t be a big deal for Rob to go frontal nude if the script asked for it
I tried to, I think the opinions were mixed. It’s important to know that a lot of women go to this event for the event not specifically for the movie. I heard a lot of women liked it and many were discussing the end and the theme of the movie afterwards.
I know one thing and that is that he has a very nice ass following a very nice body lol. I was: Okay, I didn’t expect this so soon. There was more Rob nude than ladies nude, in my opinion but maybe Rob’s nude just made me not see the rest lol
The prostitute: heavy make-up in a way it didn’t make her beautiful but I guess it had to be that way. It was the scene with her that showed him nude from the back. I don’t think they did anal but I’m not sure, I was knocked out by his ass lol
Pear eating scene: he was endearing in that scene with the giggle of the older ladies when Mme Rousseau invited him to sit with them. And Georges had his charming smile.
The marriage ceremony was short, the audience laughed with Mme Rousseau wearing all black. There was no convo. The scenes with Suzanne and George were too short (I did see Bad Mothers Handbook) to judge. Georges makes clear to Clotilde that he doesn’t love Suzanne at all.
I think Rob nailed Georges. I read the book 2 times so I had an idea of the character of Georges. Eventhough he’s a cad and screws with the women I always felt a bit of affection for him. The movie gave me the same feeling because Rob showed all different aspects of Georges: uncertain, boyish, charming, cruel, greedy, calculating, angry, rancuneus (sp?). You can see how he grows in this society, how he thinks about becoming rich but also how he’s honest in his feelings for Clotilde. I don’t think that there were some aspects of Georges left out.
They keep Laurine, the little girl in the movie. He plays with her and she calls him Bel ami. There’s only one scene with them.
Forestiers death scene: more or less as in the book, but short. You can see him only in his bed with Georges and Madeleine waking.
I found the costumes very beautiful, all the scenery was good. Rob looks really great in his costumes, can’t say which one I prefer. I liked when undones his tie. His lenght is a big advantage, wearing this suits.
Rob without suit is the best of course, nice back and also nice front when he’s in his underwear lol.
They had their clothes on and perhaps I’m exaggerating a very little bit but it was a weird strong scene though :)
No ‘wooden’ acting for Rob this time lol.
In the movie it’s more one way direction: Georges being manipulative towards the ladies. I’ve always defended Georges in that way that the ladies manipulated him too and the men too. This is less clear in the movie due to time restrictions I guess. The women are more victims here.
But because Georges remains always a charming boy until the end, I kept feeling a bit sympathy for him.
That was the goal, tiggerama, I thought they called it a kidnapping in the book but maybe I read wrong. I read it in french and perhaps something got lost in translation. Suzanne agreed leaving with him, I thought they called it kidnapping to Mr and Mme Rousseau.
In the movie she just jumps with him in the carriage, saying that her mother was very angry and upset.
To be honest, I don’t think this is Oscar material.
I wonder what the critics are gonna say. The movie has strong moments but also some flaws. The most important being IMO that it’s a bit superficial. This is on purpose: the mood is kept light, the music too. You can’t compare it with Amélie Poulain, not at all but it slightly reminded me a bit at it.
That brought some comedy moments in it which was nice.
You’re warned, LadyDi. I was caught off guard lol. Thinking first: is it her or his ass and than see it was his. I would’ve liked the sex scenes a bit more erotical and intense. The potential was there and they were good, but before I could see Rob in detail it was the next scene. On the other hand you can’t fill a movie with only sex scenes(for me it can though) and he almost already jumped from one bed into the other.
In the book there’s more time between them, time the movie couldn’t afford.
I loved the movie, will see it again when it hits theatres.
Be aware that I’m not the type of person who jumps with my arms in the air lol.
When I say Rob was brilliant in some scenes I mean he was b.r.i.l.l.i.a.n.t.
Anja1307 from Spunk-Ransom.com:
I was one of the lucky girls, that saw Bel Ami yesterday in Belgium. I traveled about 500 km from Germany to Belgium but it was worth. The film is great! I think it`s close to the book. Rob is brilliant in this movie, I`ve ever known he is a good actor, but his performance in this movie improves on everything! He is so sweet with children, when he catches little Laurine! The sex scenes are very hot and there is a lot of Rob`s crack in it :) . The sex scene with Uma Thurman is very strange. He assorts so well with the other actors like Christina Ricci and Uma Thurman. Uma was very good in her role and I liked her voice, fantastic! I tihink this movie can mean Rob`s Breakthrough! There is no Edward in this film. He shows a lot of emotion and this in a fantastic way! He is angry, he cries, yes there a true tears when Charles Forrestier dies. He pushes Virgine on the floor and this is very convincing because it shows all his despite for her. Even when he kicks out Mr. Rousset and his friends out of his flat because they betrayed him. Waah! Fantastic! Rob and all the others did a very good job. I think it`s Robs best movie so far. He can show so many features and he did this in such a incredible way! At last I`ve to say that Christina Ricci is the perfect Clothilde. She was brilliant and so nice to see her with Rob. Everyone should see this film and thank your Rob for doing this incredible movie!
DAY TWO BEGINS
Well ladies, I just got home from seeing Bel Ami and don’t know where to start.

Although the story is very confronting and depressing in itself, the movie is great.

The rhythm of the movie feels like a dance, a waltz of some sorts, that flows with the ups and downs in the story and the music score supports that feeling.

As you all know it starts down, depressing, but in the first scene spirits are lifted as Duroy meets Forrestier, an old army “friend” who invites him for dinner at his home the next day and gives him some money to dress appropriately. Seeing Georges/Robert’s smile of alleviation lifts the atmosphere of that scene completely. But than you are pulled down again as he is fiddling with the money and you don’t know whether he is using it for clothes or something else. Because in the next scene you see him (yes that is the famous butt scene) fucking a prostitute doggy style and butt naked and it is just that, plain impersonal hard fucking. Purely getting off.

I can assure you that it is weird to see Robert Pattinson in that scene, because we are not used to seeing him in that kind of role and it takes some getting used  to.

But then the spirits lift again when he attends the dinner party and meets the 3 women who are crucial in the rest of the story and gets his breakthrough. And so it goes on throughout the story … with life’s (lift) ups and (being put) downs brought together in one intricate well coordinated and fluent “dance”.

Throughout the movie you see George Duroy evolve from a desperate poor young man who is basically capable of loving and caring to an egocentric, proud and vengeful bastard who uses everybody and everything to get what he wants and to execute his revenge. In other words he loses himself, but in the end doesn’t care anymore because the only thing that still counts is being on top and winning.

Robert Pattinson nailed this part brilliantly. One moment he lets you believe that Duroy is this kind, but desperate young man and the next you hate his guts because he’s just being a bastard and is only looking out for number one.

In the beginning of the movie he plays Duroy as a somewhat fumbling young man who is quite insecure but who wants to get a break to make something out of himself. But at the same time you can see that he knows of the effect he has on women. Although at first he is also quite insecure and awkward in that context too. The first love scene with Clothilde is sweet and yes, quite sexy. And their next encounters are romantic and loving.

She lifts Duroy up to another level, and at the same time makes him much more confident. Until he moves on to the next woman, and the next success, and the next woman, and the next … and ultimately he becomes an egocentric selfish bastard. And also that side of Duroy is excellently portrayed by Robert, because he genuinely makes you hate his guts … he is simply a prick, an ass !  But then at the end of the movie during his interaction with Clothilde the sweetness that was there at the beginning resurfaces enough for you to understand that he is simply a prisoner of his own life, a result of his own shortcomings and weaknesses.

Robert Pattinson blew me away in this movie. I always felt that he was a good actor, more so in his non-Twilight movies, because the character of Edward Cullen has it’s limitations and occasionally made me doubt. But this movie is a whole different ballgame. What he did here is without any doubt A-level, and anyone who says differently simply refuses to give credit where it belongs. How he does it is beyond me, but throughout the movie Robert perfectly keeps on balancing between the egocentric selfsecure bastard, Duroy, who is  “a man of the world” and wants to believe he is on top of his game, and between the desperate fumbling, but charming Georges or”Bel Ami” who time after time is confronted with the fact that although he is desperate to believe he is a “success” is ultimately being fucked over by the people he thinks he is using.
The interaction between Robert and Christina Ricci was really convincing. Clothilde is the only woman in the movie hemakes love to and it feels like the connection is really there. Their scenes are the only “warm and comfortable” scenes throughout the movie.

Uma Thurman and Kristin Scott Thomas did a very good job, but the essence of the interaction between their characters and Duroy is very different, he simply uses them and gets used.
One scene with Uma is very hard to see. They are married and he approaches here for sex while they are working and to get him off her cases she fucks him very businesslike and clinical where he keeps on begging her to stop. The look on his face is almost as if he is being raped as he cries out and begs for her to stop.To end this I just want to mention one more thing that happened during the screening and that seemed a bit odd to me. There were scenes where practically everybody started to laugh. OK they were scenes where he fumbles or acts awkwardly, but it was weird because it is such a loaded film and still the whole theater started to full out laugh. And it just made me wonder whether that was really the director’s purpose or not …PS : to answer one more question here … the movie ends when Duroy is getting married to his former mistress Virginie and her husband, his opponent’s daughter, who is loaded with money and he leaves the church with the biggest smile of accomplishment on his face … his beautiful bright smile while he walks from the shadows of the church into the sunlight.
So, I just realized I haven’t posted here for ages- how could that happen actually? But after watching the movie yesterday and reading a few of the comments I decided to put my two cents about it out here as well. At first: Rob did an amazing job! He got a step further or maybe he was already there but couldn’t show it fully before- thinking about some of the scenes in LA right now. What so ever, the emotional range he was capable to show in that movie is impressive. Unbelievable he was just 23 while shooting those scenes. Kudos, Robert, you were extraordinary!

And now I will say something a lot of people might not like, no offense but I just need to say it. This is not a nice film, and the sex scenes yes, they are their, but come on girls, this is not what this should be about. Starting a sentence about a great movie, and by great I mean emotionally disturbing and irritating, and a great performance of an actor we all say to adore by mentioning his arse first? I am all for the fun, believe me, I am but seriously it sometimes feels like that the more naked Rob gets the more some of you like the film. It took me a while to actually accept the character of DuRoy, him seeing seducing this women was not a constant turn on for me and *SPOILER*the sex scene with him and Uma was nearly disgusting and I pitied Georges. Maybe I was to much into the film, maybe I have seen to much naked men, but what this film shows is: A young man from Barnes who is capable to develop in a way a lot of actors are not able to. I hope he is proud of himself!

Bel Ami Review.
OMG, I’ve just seen Bel Ami…
IT WAS FUCKING AMAZINGY FANTASTIC!
Rob’s acting is so extremely good in it!!! It’s so different from the things he has done so far, but he did it extraordinary good! HE CAN LITTERALY DO ALL KINDS OF MOVIES!
Like really, I believed everything, I believed every wrinkle in his face, every eye contact he made, every step he took, every word he said, EVERYTHING! Yeah, that’s acting!
I had goose bumps throughout the entire movie!
Rob did an amazing job, and not only Rob, the entire cast was WOW! So good!
The first moment of the movie was so jfksdjfksdljlksdflqs, yeah, really I’ve no words for that. I was so excited and then seeing Rob his (first his feet, then the rest of his body ) face… I was shaking! He’s so good, just one look to share something, yeah, THAT’S acting! I already knew he was good, but it’s confirmed again!
After about 5 minutes it was already NAKED ROB time! HE’S THE THRUSTER! Yes, you can say that! I didn’t expect that it would be that way, it was shocking, intense, yeah we’re not used to see Rob like this. NAKED BUT AND THRUST, THRUST… I was already dead after 5 minutes!
And then he was wearing some 19th century underpants, and all I saw was BUTTCRACK!
The sex scene with Uma Thurman was almost disgusting, it was like he was almost raped, his face… :O
OMG, Rob is so cute with little children! He was playing tag with Laurine and it was hilarious! Seeing him jump on the sofa and stuff :’) I was laughing so hard!
Rob’s little smile is also present! :) And the hair-move too! :’)
You can really see the evolutions of George Duroy, he always shows more of his character… AMAZING MOVIE IS AMAZING!
There are a few scenes in the movie in which Rob has tears in his eyes, it really touched me!
The whole movie is filled with so many emotions and Rob and all the other actors can show those emotions extremely well!
The people the row behind me were so annoying. They were talking about ‘oh it’s that vampire boy’ and stuff. I could slap them in the faces, I was so angry! But It felt so good when I heard them talking when the movie was done! They were really discussing things and actually said that Rob is a great actor and that they enjoyed the movie and didn’t expect it to be so good.
Well, I can say you that Rob’s performance in this movie is definitely worth some awards and stuff!

*** Spoiler Alert ***
Where should we begin. Good question.
We were so excited to be able to see this movie in Belgium. Took us 2 ½ hrs to get there, but hey, who cares.
Neither of us didn’t hear anything about the previous night showing, so we didn’t know what to expect really. Of course we saw the trailers, but still. There came a great pic on the screen of George with his women, that set the mood. Him looking rather smug.
It started with seeing the back of George, looking good already. Him looking in to the crowd, where you know he wants to succeed, in a good or bad way. Then showing his anguish, where my (Fen) first reaction was; Since when does he have a double chin? Yeah, sorry, but he still looked good.
Then the plot started.
George on his way to the bar. Naked women all around..The perfect shot happened there, we both had trouble breathing. George getting his beer, turning around and looking straight into the camera, OMG! PANTYDROPPING LOOK!!! These shots happened throughout the whole movie, this movie is the perfect setting for millions of screencaps. George bumps into a socialite, Charles, who he talks to, and gets invited to his house. He hooks up with a hooker and all of the sudden there it was: George doggystyle, naked, butt in full view, deep thrusts, insert wet panties here.
From there on it is clear what and who George is. Just a manwhore who wants to sleep his way to the top.
He gets tips from Charles’ wife on who to become ‘friends’ with. He goes to Coltide, played by Christina Ricci. That scene made our ovaries explode. He plays tag with Coltide’s daughter, so sweet!!! Coltide joins in too, and it looks like a little family. The only time you really see a carefree George.
They get into some sort of relationship, which seems somewhat genuine. They have multiple sex scenes. Really good ones. Buttcrack, nipples it was all there to make your panties even wetter.
After getting a job George gets his first taste of money . You see the change in George immediately. His look is calculating. This really comes across in Rob’s facial expressions, which are extremely good throughout the entire film. His face is the constant state of plotting his next move to get higher on the social ladder.
George is there when Charles dies. He sees his chance and propositions Madeleine, Charles’ wife, into marriage. Of course for his own benefit. By marrying her, he ends up being the replacement of Charles at the newspaper, this is of course a high position.
During this marriage George is hanging on to Cotilde as well.
There’s one scene, which we personally found a bit odd. George wants to have sex with Madeleine, she at first doesn’t but gives in. Then there’s an extreme side close up from George’s face, and you see a bit of Madeleine where she is practically raping him. He wants her to slow down, but she just keeps going on. You only saw George’s face, and that was just awkward. Of course he finishes, but not on a happy note..You have to see it to understand, it was filmed really weird.
When he knows Madeleine isn’t enough anymore, he goes to the next woman high upon the social ladder. That freaked us out a bit, the scene with Virginie, the much older woman…ugh…Sorry, not really into that.
George is getting desperate. And it shows in the scenes from here on out. In the end he admits that even his love for Coltide isn’t enough. He marries Suzanne, Virginie’s daughter, can we say awkward?? But of course this is all what you can expect from a calculated George. But he gets away with it all, even Coltide, remains by his side.. Then we have the end; a smug George, a really smug George.
About Rob’s performance as George:
We both loved the angry Rob during a few scenes. We keep on coming back to his facial expressions. Even when you didn’t read the book, you had no trouble understanding the film. From the beginning you could see Rob, as George, just calculating and plotting every move. Most of the movie is shot in close ups, which makes you nearly stop breathing.
This is a real outside of the box film for Rob. Playing a complete asshole, and not even a bit romantic. Okay, he was in the beginning with Coltide. The scenes between him and Christina Ricci, we personally loved. Not only because of the added benefits (naked Rob) but she plays her part amazingly well. The last scene between them two made us both teary eyed. The acting in that one, amazing.
This is the movie that we hope will get him of the Edward stigma. It’s the total opposite and his acting is so much better.
Yes, a must see movie! When can we go again?????
Astrid from ROBsessed:
Your amazing blog already had a lot of reviews about Bel Ami up already so I’m not gonna write another one.
I agree with everything they’re saying:

- Rob had his character down completely.
- The way his character was able to play everyone around him was brilliant.
- He looked powerful and determined, staring people down like they were insects
- He nailed every emotion. Spot on (especially angry – I was really surprised it was that good!)
I don’t think I need to explain how good he is when he’s seducing the women. It’s unbelievable – I was melting!
His smug smile: GOLD!
I was felt kinda proud when he name appeared on the screen in huge, elegant letters during the credits.
I would like to mention this:
When I walked out of the cinema my first thought was “He’s gonna blow us all away in Cosmopolis”.
In this movie he was a nobody who wanted to rise to power. As soon as he got a taste of it he became this cocky bastard, but sometimes (when he was by himself) you could see the doubt creep up on him and you’d see the cracks in his façade.
Imagine what he’ll be like when he actually is a powerful rich man from birth, not a doubt in his mind.
I’m even more excited for Eric Parker after seeing George DuRoy.
RobstenCrazy Review:

So, I saw Bel Ami last night, and it’s just amazing, actually when we were 20 minutes or something in the movie I was thinking it was Oscar worthy…I also think Rob’s performance is really amazing, though he always is amazing of course. But I do have to admit and this might be an unpopular opinion, but Georges is kind of a jerk.That was my general opinion on it, and again, if you don’t want to be spoiled get away from here.So when the movie started Georges was in his apartment and well, he was kind of a mess. but then he went to a bar and there he met Charles Forestier, one of his former buddies. After that also came the first sex scene with one of the hookers. But anyway Georges was invited to come dine with Forestier, and there he met Forestier’s wife, Madeleine(and all the other women he’d fuck later on in the movie).In this scene I want to tell, the acting is briliant.But at the dinner someone suggests he should write about his experience in Algiers but well, he doesn’t have any experience in writing, Madeleine suggests she’d help him, and so she does. When she is helping him,she tells him not to try with her, that it won’t work.The article is a huge hit and Laroche(the boss of the journal) wants more of it and hires Georges. Of Course Duroy knows he can’t keep asking Madeleine, and so he doesn’t, and he also doesn’t write the second article.Then he goes to Clotilde de Marelle’s house.There he also meets Laurine, Clotilde’s daughter. I’m actually kinda sad she wasn’t more in the movie, I just loved that scene, Georges and Laurine were playing tag, and it was just so amazing to see Rob run around the room like that. So then Georges invited Clotilde over to his apartment, which is also kinda funny, he buys all these kind of decorations but it just doesn’t help the room much, so then she suggests that she could hire a room for them, which then kinda becomes their love nest. Georges eventually gets fired from the journal, because when he tried to write something it sucked. He does get a new job in the journal and here’s how: Madeleine had told him that Virginie, Laroche’s wife, her opinion is worth ten years of begging with the boss. And so he goes to give her some pears, which was funny scene ‘cause he was the only male with a lot of women.But he gets a job at the journal at the gossip section( i have no idea if he does to in the book but that was funny).
When Georges finds out Forestier is really ill and he had gone to Cannes to get better he goes there too. When he arrives there he’s wearing a white suite, and that’s hot. Forestier doesn’t get better and eventually dies, and there there was something I didn’t really understand: Madeleine and Georges were on a funeral but then Charles wasn’t dead yet. I have no idea why that was, was it another funeral, or something wrong in the movie, I have no idea. But after he died, Georges immediately asked Madeleine to marry him. Madeleine tells him to think about it really well, ‘cause to her marriage is more a business deal. But they do marry, though you don’t get to see anything of that, they are already married in the next scene. That is also the scene in which he gets a new name: Georges Du Roy de Cantel.
Georges and Madeleine work a lot together, or Madeleine works and Georges is irritating but of course Georges wants sex with his wife and when she gives in, well i won’t give details, but it’s like she raped him.
George is suspecting Madeleine has thing with the count, and well he’s right. When he dies, Madeleine inherits all the count’s money. And on top of that George also finds out Madeleine has an affair with Laroche. So they divorce.
George finds out Suzanne the daughter of Virginie and Laroche her dowry is worth 30 million francs, and he wants to marry her. And so he does, and then my dear friends is the end of the movie.
Overall I enjoyed this movie a lot, yes, i had some laughs, and I saw his butt, and he thrusted, and that does things to me. But I think beyond the sex there is a great story, and i wanted to share that, and yes i know loads of you have read the book but, as you can see that is much different.I didn’t mention a lot of the sex, but i think if you’d count there are 10 or less, i have no idea tbh.
 Twilight-Belgium Review:
As you know, Belgium had the pleasure to discover Bel Ami in exclusivity during the famous Ladies at the Movies night from the Kinepolis group. As a Rob fan, I couldn’t miss it for the world!

By the way, my review is spoiler free!

Bel Ami is an adaptation of the novel of the same name written by Guy de Maupassant. I didn’t read the book so unfortunetaly, I can’t tell you if the movie is faithful to the book or not.

The movie takes place in Paris during the 1800s. Georges Duroy, a poor soldier, is in search of success and is trying to make money in Paris. His life changed when he met an old “friend” of his, Charles Forestier, who introduce him to the director of his paper, La vie Française. Georges is hired as a journalist despite is pity writting.
Georges soon find his place in the upper-middle class… especially with the women.

Let’s start with Rob‘s performance : he’s simply amazing!

Georges is a greedy character who is capable of everything for money. He knows women are not insensitive to his charm and doesn’t hesitate to use that to manipulate them.

He can be a little psycho too when things don’t go his way! But that’s what I like in Rob’s performance: he got this dark and intensive look that can make you melt! The best part is when’s he mad… that was sexyyy!

Uma Thurman
(Madeleine Forestier), Kristin Scott Thomas (Virginie Rousset) and Christina Ricci are also very good too. For me, the best was Kristin Scott Thomas who is excellent. Her character made me laugh so much!

But of course, as expected, it’s not the kind of movie that’s full of action and the rythm is very slow. It  didn’t bother me though, I never got bored for one tiny second.
I was surprised to see some funny scenes too, especially with the character of Virginie.

We also talked a lot about nudity and sex scenes in the movie… Well, there’s some nudity (like Rob’s buttcrak for example!) and an explicit (but short) sex scene. But it’s just in the beginning and that’s about all there is too see… Call me perv but I was expecting a lot more! lol

Anyway, I really like the movie. Okay, it’s slow but based on the story, it’s kind of expected. I don’t think it’s made for the general public but it should please those who like that kind of movie… and Rob fans should be thrilled by his amazing performance that shows how talented he really is.
We had yesterday, january 4th, the chance we were lucky enough to see Donnellan and Ormerod’s film Bel Ami, starring Robert Pattinson, Uma Thurman, Christina Ricci, Kristin Scott Thomas, Colm Meaney, Philip Glenister, at the ante-premiere in Brussels (Ladies at the Movies).We don’t want to spoiler the movie in any way so we will not give too much details, but a first impression on the film. The film was worth the expectation that surrounds it, and worth every single day that we must still wait until it will be released worldwide. When it comes out, do not miss it for any reason. A Robert Pattinson so seductive, good (really good) in acting, and really surprising in his acting tones, in his expressive abilities,  ironical and sexy  is a must.
You will want to see him (and the movie)  several times, you’ll want to share your emotions with your friends … Above all, you will be seriously tempted to take your collection of Twilight Movies and throw it out the window, because this film, Bel Ami, shows how far, on this British actor, has spoken essentially at random. And it emphasizes his skills much more convincing than the previous films.
The film is completely faithful to the original book, and it follows the track of rapid social climbing of the protagonist, and the description of the  journalistic and political environment, at the time, described by De Maupassant in the original book. A  good editing of this movie , faster than the previous one and a good directing, theater-style, but not too much,  characterizes the film.
Pattinson, fully leads the movie (and his performance is a strong gradual crescendo that literally explodes to the best in the last 40 minutes of the film), with strong performances by Meaney & Glenister, and from the three leading ladies (Thurman, Ricci, Scott Thomas) Thurman appears much more “in part” than appeared in the trailer released.
The movie is a the film is a complex but successful alternating tones from farce to drama  , irony, comic tone, dramatic and sensual tone. Sensuality  characterizes the entire course of the film and makes it a MUST SEE MOVIE. You will want to see it a second time.
