Christina Perri's Song A Thousand Years Goes Gold!

Christina Perri's single for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1's original motion picture soundtrack, "A Thousand Years" has gone gold, she reported today.

On Twitter, Perri shared the news, saying:

"thank u everyone who bought 'a thousand years' it went GOLD this morning!!!! ahhh!!! so grateful am i xo."

Gold certification, in music industry speak, means the song or album has sold 500,000 copies or more.

Perri's single was one of the leading tracks from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1's soundtrack album, and she had dual videos for it - one featuring the song's lyrics and the other an official music video. Both versions have been viewed on YouTube by millions.

Perri joined several of the Twilight Saga's veteran castmembers on a nationwide cast and musician tour - stopping in Atlanta, Chicago, and Dallas herself - to perform "A Thousand Years" and some of her other music live. She also sang the song on The Ellen Degeneres Show this winter.
