Quebec could have Kristen Stewart, Kirsten Dunst and Viggo Mortensen in 2012. It's the dream of the organizers of a tribute to Jack Kerouac who wish to hold in the capital a special presentation of 'On The Road', the adaptation of the famous book by the American author.
Simon Couillard, director of communications for Largo restaurant, confirmed that a special presentation of the movie, which is scheduled for release in 2012, is part of the project.
The stars of the movie, directed by Walter Salles and in which Quebecer Marie-Ginette Guay has a role, would be invited to Quebec city for the screening says Mr. Couillard.
'For sure we'll send them invitations. It's possible and we'll try everything to get them here.'
The directors of Largo contacted the organizers of the Quebec Film Festival to seek help in their project. They do not close an association with the FCVQ (Quebec Film Festival).

In November or in spring

'It's a project in the works. There are talks.' Says Annie Fernandez, spokeswoman for the FCVQ.
The screening of 'On The Road' would be held during the Film Festival held from November 24-27 2012. at  the Largo, during celebrations for the 25th anniversary of the Jack Kerouac International Meeting that was held in October 1987 in Quebec city.
'But it could also be held in the spring.' Says Simon Couillard who is ready to adjust the screening for the 'On The Road' production team.
He also confirmed that a show featuring Yann Perreau and Eve Cournoyer will be held in November for the 25th anniversary that will be scheduled during the Quebec city Jazz Festival. The complete program for that festival will be out March 12th.
First Adaptation

The official release date for 'On The Road', an American, French, Brazilian and British co-production is still unknown. Sam Riley, Garrett Hedlund and Amy Adams are also part of the distribution.
It's the first adaptation of the author whose parents are from the province of Quebec. Francis Ford Coppola has held the rights since 1980 but it's only a few years ago that it was materialized with Walter Salles as director.
