I just finished watching Young Adult with Elizabeth Reaser. Elizabeth plays the wife of Charlize Theron's ex Boyfriend. Happily married with a new baby the pair , when Charlize's character walks back into town and back into their lives they invite her in out of sheer pity, or Elizabeth's character does and unknowingly releases old demons.
Charlize's character loves her old boyfriend Bobby , after receiving a email of his her baby daughter she gets the thought into her head to go and rescue him. Thinking he's "In Trouble." She goes into town and runs into a old friend from school who we find out was not popular in high school. She reveals her big plan to him.
She meets Beth ( Elizabeth Reaser) Bobby's wife and instantly hates her. She becomes hostile towards her. We meet Elizabeth's character first when Mavis ( Theron) goes to their house and Elizabeth comes out the front door holding a baby.
It was nice to see Elizabeth playing a mother and interacitng with the baby. Elizabeth was so good in that scene and was so good with the baby. When Mavis talks about how she still sleeps in Bobbys old t-shirts and Beth acts completely oblivious to her comment or her obvious intentions.
The cute scenes where Patrick and Elizabeth played the cute happy married couple was adorable as Patrick and Elizabeth fed off each others energy.
Elizabeth Reaser is incredibly funny as the oblivious wife and Patrick Wilson is perfect as the ex- boyfriend and Charlize Theron is hillarious and incredibly funny as the arrogant Mavis who never grew up.
