‘Coco Before Chanel’ director rounds out the cast of her next.
Australian actor Ben Mendelsohn (‘Killer Elite,’ ‘Animal Kingdom’) has boarded the cast of Anne Fontaine’s ‘The Grandmothers,’ joining the principal cast of Naomi Watts, Robin Wright, Xavier Samuel (‘Anonymous’), and James Frecheville (‘Animal Kingdom’).
Penned by Academy Award winning screenwriter Christopher Hampton (‘Atonement,’ ‘Dangerous Liasons’), the story of misguided love follows two childhood friends and neighbours who each fall in love with the other’s sons.
Also joining Fontaine’s English-language debut are model turned actress Sophie Lowe (‘The Slap,’ ‘Beautiful Kate’), Gary Sweet (‘Gettin' Square,’ ‘The Chronciles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader’) and Jessica Tovey (‘Underbelly,’ ‘Home & Away’).
Production is set to kick off this week with the eight-week shoot taking place in and around Sydney.
