Eonline: Kristen Stewart to Cover Elle U.S.? Mag Stays Mum on Rumored Leaked Cover

Photobucket We first told you the doctored Elle U.K. June cover featuring Kristen Stewart was a total phony—in fact, we received official confirmation from across the pond.

But you readers immediately went off in an adorable tizzy, insisting the cover circulating around the web was indeed not from the U.K. version, but instead was the Elle U.S. cover featuring K.Stew as well.

So, what's the latest word on the cryptic U.S. cover that's supposedly featuring the vamptastic queen?
We spoke countless times with the kind folks over at Elle U.K., who were more than happy to confirm the cover is "not from the U.K. issue of Elle. " We then reached out to Elle U.S.  for comment and, in response, received an abrupt email asking us to "remove the Elle Kristen Stewart cover."
Why?
Because it's "copyrighted property of Hearst magazines."

Which obviously means something's up with the gorgeous pic. And perhaps, you all were correct to assume the phony cover is in fact not-so-phony at all. We asked for further clarification on the cover and received no word back.

So, while the photo mystery might be partially solved (it obviously appears somewhere in the mag), we're still oh-so-confused why Elle U.S. has decided to stay mum on their par-tick June cover.

Remember, Elle U.K. announced Kristen as their cover girl two months in advance, revealed a sneak peak of the photo shoot and even launched a #KristenElle Twitter campaign to promote the mag which became a top trending topic.

But Elle U.S. has been awfully cagey about Kristen thus far and only a few fashion reporters confirmed via Twitter that she will indeed star as the U.S. cover girl as well.

Doesn't make sense the mag's seem so out of sync. But perhaps it's all part of their master plan to capitalize on K.Stew as much as poss.
Nah, on second thought, it's probably just 'cause Elle U.S. can't spell (remember the version floating around with her name spelled Kristin?).
Have at it, Awful readers. We know you'll have more than enough to sound off on.
