Chris Hemsworth and Kristen Stewart walk the 'white' carpet in Sydney for the Australian Premiere of SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN. Yes this is another take on the classic fairytale and while it's definitely not the fairest of them, Movie News Reporter Lisa Neal reckons it's the best yet.
Based on the original Brothers Grimm story first published in 1812, first time feature director and state of the art visionary Rupert Saunders has let his creativity run wild in this retelling. And while you could feast on the visuals of this film alone with gold melting mirrors and evil stepmothers morphing into a flock of crows, the story and characters are just as rewarding. Every character is well crafted, complex and perfectly cast.
Charlize Theron is the eviliest of evil queens, the dwarfs read like the list of A-list British gangsters, Chris Hemsworth brings gravitas to possibly a new character for many, The Huntsman - while Kristen Stewart raises the bar to deliver Snow White, Princess Warrior.
But the rave fest doesn't stop there. The locations and sets are amazing with the Enchanted Forest shot in the Queen's backyard at Windsor Castle.
Lisa Neal catches up with stars and their director to talk about the sets, characters and how Kristen faced her greatest fear of them all on set.
