Muse are expected to perform their recent single 'Survival' at the ceremony. The track is one of five official soundtracks selected for The Games.

"They sowed a seed by asking us to do some music but then five months went by. We showed them a few songs when they asked us about [playing the] closing ceremony and they loved it."
George Michael and Ed Sheeran have also confirmed their roles in the London 2012 Olympic closing ceremony, while the Spice Girls, Take That and One Direction are heavily rumoured to be taking part.
Speaking of 'Survival', the official Olympics theme, drummer Dom Howard told NME: “I'm happy with the song. It's a proper Muse song.
