MTV Will Anna Kendrick be Marvel's next leading lady? It's an entirely possible outcome, considering that her name was mentioned as one of three alleged front-runners for a new role in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" about a month ago. (Imogen Poots and Felicity Jones were the other two names to crop up for the part.)
Since that initial report, we've heard approximately zilch. Now, after an interview MTV News had with Kendrick at the Toronto International Film Festival (where she was supporting her new cop drama "End of Watch," out today), we have a little more to add — specifically, that she's not talking about it.
"Oh, right. Damn it," she responded when we started asking her to weigh in on the recent rumors of her superhero involvement. "No. I'm going to say I don't know what you're talking about."
Asked if she at least finds herself intrigued by the superhero genre, Kendrick replied diplomatically, "Certainly. Certainly." A beat later, when it was clear she was not budging on the topic, she cheerfully apologized, "Sorry, bro!"
No need to apologize, Anna. Just get your S.H.I.E.L.D. clearance approved, and then we'll talk details.
