A CHIC WARDROBE! THE CUTE KID'S ROOM! US TOURS BELLA AND EDWARD'S FIRST HOME.
A Fairy-Tale Romance deserves a storybook home. "This cottage is the comfiest, coziest place" a newly married couple could have, production designer Richard Sherman tells US. In contrast to the Cullen clan's sleek, modernist abode, "we went for a warmer palette: creamy yellows, ochre, lots of stone and wood, with hits of red." But building the two-bedroom set (interiors in Baton Rouge; the exterior in a Vancouver forest) was no easy feat. "It was hard to do the exposed beams and hand-hewn floors, but Stephanie Meyer was very specific how she described it in the books!" Fans will also be thrilled Bella's walk-in wardrobe made it to the screen. "It seemed impractical to me," admits Sherman. "But one of producers did The Devil Wears Prada. She knows the importance of a closet!"
Right side:
Producer Karen Rosenfelt "was like, 'Listen! This is Bella's closet! It's her fantasyland!'" says Sherman. "We filled it to the brim: dresses, jeans, boots, scarves, purses."
