We’ve known for a little while that the film would be released in the UK in IMAX – and tickets are already on sale here for the BFI IMAX in London – but the official release below suggests that we’ll be getting more than just the three dates currently on sale, with a full run likely to run at least until the end of November, if not until the release of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey on 14th December.
The BFI IMAX will also be hosting the back-to-back marathon at 23:59 on 15th November, bringing all five instalments, including the upcoming final film, to the big screen, with tickets for that also already on sale here .
Unfortunately for US fans, given the delayed release of Skyfall in the States (itself likely to accommodate the release of Cloud Atlas), which lands the week before Twilight on 9th November (released in IMAX on 8thNovember), it could well be that the IMAX theatres will be screening Skyfall in the US and not Breaking Dawn – Part 2, but we await official confirmation on that either way.
“The astonishing conclusion to the series, THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN, PART 2, illuminates the secrets and mysteries of this spellbinding romantic epic that has entranced millions.”
Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner will be returning to the big screen for one final outing as Bella, Edward, and Jacob, starring alongside Ashley Greene, Dakota Fanning, Michael Sheen, Nikki Reed, and Elizabeth Reaser.
Bill Condon is once more behind the camera, directing from a script by Melissa Rosenberg, having worked together to bring us the first instalment adapting the final novel in the saga by Stephenie Meyer.
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 will be released in the UK and US on 16th November, with The Complete Twilight Saga marathon running a day early, on 15th November. Here in the UK, and in a handful of other select countries, we can now officially look forward to seeing the final film in IMAX from 16thNovember.
