Julien Macdonald Talks About Dressing Kristen Stewart For BD Madrid Photocall

Photobucket

"Julien Macdonald has spoken exclusively to Grazia Daily about Kristen Stewart wearing his dress in Madrid today. So what's his verdict? 'I think the styling was perfect, she kept it quite simple with tousled hair and a classic pair of black heels,' he told us.
'Kristen is an actress who never gets it wrong on the red carpet and she lets the clothes speak for themselves whilst keeping them looking modern and cool.' And are you a Twilight fan, Mr Macdonald? 'I’m a big fan ofTwilight - I have liked it since the beginning and am so sad to see it come to an end!' Hear, hear. 'Kristen Stewart is one of my favourite actresses of the moment and it’s an honour to dress her for the red carpet.'
Of course, it's an incredible feeling for the London-based designer to see any of the world's style-setters donning his dresses. 'It inspires me to create more collections and push myself more and more,' Macdonald says. 'I’m lucky to have dressed a wide range of celebrities and VIPs who are great role models to others and who are often watched for their style choices.'
And that's what we'll be doing right here on Grazia Daily - watching for K-Stew's next style hit. Bring on tonight's premiere...
What a fun week this is turning out to be! Kristen Stewart's style assault has kept us highly entertained as she embarks on the seemingly endless Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 tour. There's been bum scalloped shaping, zig zag prints and lots of sheer action from her promo wardrobe, all sparking heated debates here atGrazia HQ. And would you look at that? The latest treat has just landed for our inspection.
This is K-Stew at the photocall in Madrid this very afternoon dressed in a sleek monochrome shift. It's a tres ladylike approach in comparison to the flesh-flashing, not to mention sequin drenched, ensemble she wore to last night's London premiere - not even one bum cheek on show - and the black and white combo is suitably sophisticated. The look is blinged up, however, with a bejewelled neckpiece plus strappy sandals and those trademark tousled waves. We just wish she'd pull it down a notch to even out all those unsightly creases.

Anyhoo, we're delighted to see her once again backing British. This monochrome number comes courtesy of Julien Macdonald's Spring Summer 2013 collection, inspired by none other than Sharon Stone, and is known as the 'Bahamas' dress. Lord knows optical illusion dresses are the surest way to make the most of your curves and K-Stew is catching on fast. Earlier this month, we saw Kristen looking utterly stunning in a green and black Stella McCartney ‘silhouette’ shift [above right] - another hit in her super-sexy sartorial phase.
What's interesting is we're not seeing as much Balenciaga on this promo tour as we'd anticipated. In fact, the last time Kristen wore a Nicolas Ghesquiere creation was the night before his shock departure was announced. Considering the designer hand-picked K-Stew to be the face of Balenciaga's Florabotanica fragrance, could it be that she's no longer so willing to back the brand?

Either way, it's impressive to see Kristen looking so fresh-faced considering she's spent the night jetting across Europe. As for her hunky co-stars, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, they make the perfect accompaniment. So let's hear your verdict on the latest K-Stew outfit: hit or miss?"
