#TMI "The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones" Release Date Bumped Up

photo 20130509-045913-1000x750_zps977af8c1.jpg  mtv Shadowhunters: Let's raise our seraph blades in unison and slash through the "August 23" box on our calendars—that release date is, woefully, obsolete.

Sony has confirmed to MTV News that the big-screen debut of "The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones" has been moved up two days to August 21, meaning you can get your Clary, Jace and Magnus fix a whole 48 hours earlier (and exactly three months from today)!

For the uninitiated, "The Mortal Instruments" centers around Brooklyn teen Clary Fray, who discovers after her mom's kidnapping that she is a descendant of an ancient race of demon-destroying half-angels called Shadowhunters. She partners with one such warrior—the impossibly good-looking and incredibly snarky Jace Wayland—to rescue her mother, all the while learning the rules that have governed this secret society for centuries.

The film stars Lily Collins, Jamie Campbell Bower and Jonathan Rhys Meyers.

justjared Kellan Lutz is a dashing gentleman while posing on the cover of August Man Malaysia‘s June 2013 issue, provided exclusively to JustJared.com! Here’s what the 28-year-old actor had to share: On being part of the Twilight franchise: “When Twilight ended it was bittersweet. I was so blessed and lucky to be a part of it, that I’ll never forget a single moment. The screaming fans, the amazing directors, awesome cast and crew, all the travelling, my character, everything was amazing.”
On working with director Renny Harling for his upcoming film Hercules: “I know Renny will probably be one of the best directors I’ve ever worked with, and we get along so well that I’m sure it will be an amazing experience. He has also surrounded me with such an amazing and talented cast to bring this legendary story to life.”
On his physique: “Because of my physique I believe I am type cast a little bit. There have been times where I tell my manager I want to play something different, I want to play the underdog, or the guy who got beat up in high school. And he just laughs at me, and tells me I’ve been blessed with a strong body and to work with my strengths, and use what God gave me.”

Mia Maestro Set As Female Lead In FX Pilot "The Strain"

Mia Maestro Set As Female Lead In FX Pilot ‘The Strain’
Deadline Breaking Dawn‘s Mia Maestro is set to star opposite Corey Stoll in FX‘s high-profile drama project The Strain, from filmmaker Guillermo del Toro and veteran showrunner Carlton Cuse.

The Strain, an adaptation of del Toro’s vampire novel trilogy, formally has a pilot order, but is being eyed for a 13-episode series pickup. The Strain is a high-concept thriller that tells the story of Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Stoll), the head of the Centers for Disease Control Canary Team in New York City. He and his team are called upon to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak with hallmarks of an ancient and evil strain of vampirism.
Actress-singer Maestro, repped by ICM Partners and 3 Arts, plays Dr. Nora Martinez, who works so closely with Ephraim, they finish each other’s sentences and stumble into an affair.
A brilliant biochemist, Martinez cares more about people than the diseases that threaten them, but she will soon be forced to embrace a new identity as a ruthless warrior.
Del Toro will direct the pilot from a script he co-wrote with Chuck Hogan, who also co-authored the books with del Toro. Cuse, who helped develop the adaptation, executive produces alongside del Toro and will serve as showrunner, overseeing the potential series with del Toro. Hogan and Gary Ungar also serve as exec producers of the project, produced by FX Prods.
This marks a return to series television for Alias alumna Maestro, who will next be seen in starring in the indie Some Girls, which premiered at the SXSW Film Festival.
