New Rob Interview: Pattinson Will Take a Pub Over A Premiere

You won't see heartthrob Robert Pattinson spending money on extravagant homes or fancy cars or flitting from one red carpet to another.

"That’s not my scene," he told me at the recent BAFTA Award ceremony in London. I’m more than happy to do the normal things and buy the things I bought before all this madness kicked off."

In fact, the 23-year-old actor, known among British media as "Our Patz," said he was stunned to open the tabloids and find pictures of himself "buying underwear at my local store."

"These guys must be hiding in the rails or something," he said of the paparazzi. The star of the "Twilight" movies, born in West London, said, "I didn’t go into acting because I wanted to be famous, I got into acting because I loved the creation and the making of good credible drama. Fame is just an extra added on."

Back in London to film "Bel Ami" with "Kill Bill" star Uma Thurman, Pattinson admits that he is unsure of what to do at premieres and other red carpet events. "Although I like meeting fans and love the response from them," he said, "I’m far happier going down to my local pub, having a drink and sitting chatting to friends. That’s when I’m most relaxed."

Pattinson also expressed admiration for his "Remember Me" co-star Pierce Brosnan, known to audiences for many years as cinema's James Bond.

"You get to learn so much from these people," Pattinson said, "and Pierce has always been an acting hero of mine."

Greek MSN Article about Rob and “Remember Me”

While everyone was busy with the vampire personality of Robert Pattinson, he made the big overturning, proving that he is one of the best actors of his generation. In his new film, which serves as a break among the second and the third part of Twilight, he plays a misfit young man who is ‘tortured’ by the uncontested power of love.

The love of Edward, the vampire, with Bella in New Moon, steps aside since the dearest of all women enjoys love with another woman. The uncountable fans of the talented actor have run to the cinemas, faithful to their movie-appointment with Robert, to enjoy their beloved to a different role.
Emilie De Ravin, Pierce Brosnan & Chris Cooper complete the quartet of leading actors which obeyed the directing guidelines of Allen Coulter and they shake the Box Office waters in Greece and America.

Robert Pattinson, without the werewolves and vampires, seems to make quite an impression in this dramatic film, having 27 year-old Emilie De Ravin at his side, whom we met in Lost, and he takes one more bonus. The two of them play a young couple whose relationship is tried by the family problems they are dealing with, the biggest being the loss of the brother of the young man Pattinson plays.

Pierce Brosnan Tells NJ,com Rob Is In "Vortex Of Fame"

Q: It’s been a really wide range of parts for you, lately. In “Remember Me,” you’re this tough New York businessman.

A: Yes, this powerful, Donald Trump type. I’m very hard-nosed, separated from my wife — we’ve already lost one son to drugs, and I’m estranged from my other son, who’s played by Robert Pattinson. . . . It’s good. He’s very good in it, too. I’m so fond of Rob — this young fellow in the vortex of fame.

Q: You’ve mentioned being impressed by how Rob Pattinson’s handling his fame. But you really had two waves of it, first with “Remington Steele” and then with the Bond films. Were the experiences very different, coming a decade or so apart?

A: “Remington,” that was just the golden opportunity to create a career and an American life. And it wouldn’t have happened if I hadn’t taken the leap and mortgaged my house for 2,000 pounds and caught a cheap flight out on Freddie Laker. That was the start. And Bond, Bond always came in and out of my life with drama

Robert Pattinson says fans caused 'mayhem' on set

NEW YORK, March 12 (UPI) -- British actor Robert Pattinson admits fans of his "Twilight" films caused mayhem on the New York set of his new romantic drama, "Remember Me."

"It is really just like blanking out. I mean, at the beginning I was having loads of problems with it because it was really crazy when we were filming around Washington Square Park. It was just complete mayhem," the 23-year-old actor told reporters in New York recently.

"There was this moment when one of the security guys saw me getting more and more angry with these paparazzi guys and he just said, 'OK, imagine going over and trying to hit someone and missing in front of 40 cameras.' And that was enough to break my whole thing. It didn't really bother me afterward," he noted. "It's strange. I did a film where I hardly knew anyone on the crew or anything because I couldn't get out of my trailer when we were shooting, especially for the first month. I mean, I didn't know any of (my co-stars.) It was really odd. But, at the same time, it's quite a good lesson in life -- discipline -- because you literally have to do it. At the end of the day, you can't just say, 'I'm not doing it until these people go away.' It was way more intense than (making) any of the 'Twilight' films even. There's never even that many people who turn up for that. It was definitely an experience."

Pattinson said he finds he can concentrate better on the material and his performance much better when there are fewer distractions, though.

"I'm doing a thing now where there's no one around and I feel a million times more comfortable," he said, referring to the film "Bel Ami." "It's in England for one thing, which is very different to the States. The hysteria around the 'Twilight' stuff, I mean, it's growing a little bit (in England,) but it's completely different. But ('Bel Ami' is) a period thing so we're in all these stately homes in the middle of nowhere and so people just can't find the places. Half the crew can't find the places."

Co-starring Pierce Brosnan, Chris Cooper and Emilie de Ravin, "Remember Me" is in theaters now.

'Remember Me' Stars Robert And Emilie Recall Tales Of Their Own 'Troubled Youth'

The two lead characters in this week’s “Remember Me” could be loosely defined as “troubled youths,” with Robert Pattinson’s Tyler getting brought in by police at the beginning of the film and Emilie de Ravin’s Ally running away from home for a bit. MTV News decided to try to find out if either Rob or Emilie felt they had anything in common with their characters, and surprisingly enough, they did (to a certain extent).
Emilie said she had actually run away from home, though not to the same level Ally did in the film.

“I didn’t get very far and I think I was about 4,” she said. “My bedroom was upstairs. We had these sort of grapevines growing down the side of the house, this lattice stuff. I climbed down and was going through the horse paddocks and got to a certain distance and got scared and came back.”

The Australia native described a very rustic lifestyle, but MTV’s Josh Horowitz and Rob called her out on the seemingly perfect setting Emilie described.

“We lived in this castle in the clouds!” Rob joked.

While MTV didn’t want to probe into any of Rob’s potential criminal background, we did ask if he ever had to deal with bringing any girls home to meet his parents the way Tyler brought Ally home to meet his father, played by Pierce Brosnan.

“Yes, and…” Rob started, before trailing off and stopping himself. “No I always say bad things about my family. It was always great. It was perfect every time.”

We have a feeling Rob was hiding some potentially funny, bad experiences, but all he would give us was yes, he has in fact brought a girl home to meet his parents.

Newsdays Fast Chat Interview with Pierce Bronson (Rob Mention)

Remember Me” is a different sort of thing altogether.
I think it’s very good, beautifully shot and with the young Rob Pattinson working very hard, giving of himself. He has his head on his shoulders, so, really, hats off to him. I want the best for the lad, ’cause I’m really fond of him. He’s a lovely lad. Has a huge following, and hopefully he’ll stick to his guns and not get overwhelmed by it all.

Like Pattinson’s “Twilight,” you know a bit about franchises, no?
There are worse things [laughs]. I have nothing but gratitude for the time time spent as Bond and the life it gave me as an actor. And yet, in the realm of things, it’s just another character on the landscape of a career. Albeit a huge, iconic, symbolic character. You know going in you’re going to have the devil to pay to get you out and try and create a career that still has resonance.

My "Remember Me" Review (may contain spoilers in the inserted synopsis from IMDb)

(svensk version efter den engelska/swedish version after the english)

I just came back home from the press screening of Remember Me so I figured I would try to write down a review without adding any spoilers.

For you who still doesn't know, This is Robert Pattinsons first major movie after Twilight/New Moon.

Here you have the Synopsis of the movie, From IMDb:
In the romantic drama Remember Me, Robert Pattinson plays Tyler, a rebellious young man in New York City who has a strained relationship with his father (Pierce Brosnan) ever since tragedy separated their family. Tyler didnt think anyone could possibly understand what he was going through until the day he met Ally (Emilie de Ravin) through an unusual twist of fate. Love was the last thing on his mind, but as her spirit unexpectedly heals and inspires him, he begins to fall for her. Through their love, he begins to find happiness and meaning in his life. But soon, hidden secrets are revealed, and the circumstances that brought them together slowly threaten to tear them apart. Remember Me is an unforgettable story about the power of love, the strength of family, and the importance of living passionately and treasuring every day of ones life.

I had read some reviews online prior to going to see this movie so I had it figured out that Rob was really good in it.
But WOW, Robert Pattinson really surprised me in Remember Me. He really did an amazing job, no where near the Twilight Edward he is known for. He plays the part of Tyler amazingly and you do see him as Tyler not Rob.

The movie opens with a strong intro and the the film staggers a bit in the start but after that you don't notice anything weird (Except maybe a disappearing/re-appearing item).
You are drawn directly into the story and really feel it being played. It's a lot of emotions, many broken hearts and a lot of agony. Both Rob and Emilie are awesome. Tate Ellington in the role of Aidan, Tylers best friend, is awesome! He is really funny.
Ruby Jerins is very sweet in the role of Tyler's little sister Caroline. And the rest of the cast are old veterans and it shows.

Overall it's a very cute movie  filled with feelings, outbursts, arguments and fighting,

There is also a twist to the movie...I had some difficulties seeing how this twist really had anything to do with the rest of the movie cause it came from out of nowhere, but I guess it sort of completes the movie in a good way, sort of connects all the little red threads throughout. But I can't tell you more without spoiling you.

Bring your tissues is all I can say, Rob did such an amazing acting I had tears in my eyes the entire movie...

Really a film I recommend you to see whether you like Twilight / Robert Pattinson or not!

Tack/Thank you Nordisk Film

Men WOW, Robert Pattinson förvånad  mig verkligen i "Remember Me".

'Remember Me' Review From NY Breaking News: Robert Pattinson Is Here To Stay!

Teen heartthrob Robert Pattinson's latest movie 'Remember Me' is a romantic drama. Those who loved him in the Twilight series will not know what to expect in a very different genre of movie of his. Well, good news is that Robert Pattinson can act and act really well. You girl fans out there, your Twilight Hunk is truly something else. Fans went crazy seeing Robert Pattinson Kristen Stewart at the 'Remember Me' premiere and they will not be disappointed with their Twilight star in his latest movie.Twilight or no Twilight, he is here to stay as an actor.

The film is about a 22 year old deep, alone and brooding kind of guy seemingly at war with the whole world. The film also stars Pierce Brosnan and Emilie de Ravin and is directed by Allen Coulter based on a script by Will Fetters. The movie is a great package as a whole with great performances. The story is captivating as well as touching. Clint Morris has rightly said of R-Patz that this movie will turn him from a movie star to an actor.

Rob Pattinson plays Tyler in the movie who is though alone and kind of brooding but a good human being at heart. The romance between the characters of Pattinson and Emile de Ravin has been portrayed so real that it is really touching. Same can be said about the relationship between Robert Pattinson and on-screen father Pierce Brosnan which has again been brilliantly depicted. Bond star Brosnan plays with perfection, somewhat emotionally restrained father.

The interest is kept alive till the end with a very different, kind of shocking and unexpected ending of the movie. All I will say without disclosing the ending is that this not your typical romance where in the end every thing gets all good. My verdict: Definite watch.
