Kristen Stewart for Balenciaga

Balenciaga just bought itself millions of teenage customers: the French house has signed Twilight star Kristen Stewart as the face of its new fragrance.
The scent, which won’t be released until fall, is Balenciaga’s second. Stewart, who wears Balenciaga on the red carpet quite often, told WWD, “The brand is just cool. That’s the way it is. I feel drawn to it. It provokes on a number of levels. It isn’t afraid or contrived. It hits a very cool balance, always.” Like her own penchant for Converse and sequins?

It’s a brilliant pairing on both sides—Stewart’s earned herself the greatest kind of fashion cred. Balenciaga is not a brand that courts celebrity and when the ads drop, they will have given Stewart a sort of crown while earning an entirely new kind of attention for their own brand. Not to mention the fanfare that’s sure to accompany her inevitable Paris fashion week presence.
Now, where’s Robert Pattinson’s Burberry contract?
