Paul McDonald: Nikki Reed Is 'Pumped' About American Idol Elimination
Fans of Paul McDonald may be upset that the singer was booted off American Idol on Thursday's elimination but actress Nikki Reed – whom he says he is "officially dating" – is not.
"She is actually pumped," he said. "She said, 'Dude, you finally get to do your thing and be yourself and be the artist you are.' She is happy about the whole situation. She has been nothing but cool to me."
McDonald, 26, is also pumped because, he says, he really wanted to play the piano and show off his other talents.
"I have this other side that I didn't even start to show," he says. "I play keys. It's hard to do in a minute and a half of a cover song so I'm looking forward to doing my own thing and getting creative again."
Though he's been writing songs about "stuff going on in this whole L.A. scene," and sending them back to his band Grand Magnolias, McDonald says he doesn't know when they'll be able to cut more tracks and perform together again.
"I might have to release a solo album first," says the singer, who became good friends with fellow season 10 contestants Stefano Langone, James Durbin and roommate Jacob Lusk and like a big brother to Lauren Alaina. "But I'd like to have the guys play on the record."
Though he flashed his pearly whites last night after getting the boot, McDonald says he does have one regret: "I probably shouldn't have been writing songs while I was out here," he says. "I should have been focusing more on learning [songs for Idol]."
But, he says, "I'm really, really happy about the way that I went out."

My review of ‘Water for Elephants’
Well I am not a professional movie critic and yes I am a biased Robert Pattinson fan, but I am also honest and know what I like and do not like… and I LOVED THIS!
I will try to write this review as spoiler free as I am able to, since I know that the movie doesn’t open for the US general public until April 22nd. Norway was luckier. It opened today, April 15th! I can’t recall that happening ever, but Fox Norway told me that has happened before; when and with what movie, I do not know.
Anyway, back to my review, and I promise you my review is anything BUT negative to this movie, yes I will say it up front, LOVED THIS MOVIE, LOVED THE LOOK, THE FEEL, THE MOOD of the movie.
Then I get down to specifics: (no spoilers) First up the cinematography: STUNNING! The color, the tone, the scenery, the camera angle, even with my untrained eye, was absolutely stunning. This was truly a labor of love of all involved with this movie!
The music fit the stunning cinematography perfectly; the score, the songs used in the movie, perfect for the scenes.

Mtv: Jackson Rathbone's Band 100 Monkeys Release Track Listing For Liquid Zoo!
Earlier this week we shared the news that on June 28, "Twilight" star Jackson Rathbone and his eclectic, funky band 100 Monkeys would not only be releasing their second full-length album (on pre-sale now), but they'll also be kicking off a big summer tour (stops will include Cincinnati, Boston, Philadelphia, Seattle, and San Diego).
