The Help Review (*Just updated)

Photobucket

I saw The Help for a second time tonight. On the drive home as I watched houses pass by I realized my first review did not do this incredible film justice.

This movie is not just about the incredible acting or outfits. It is so much more then that. When I walked into the film I had no idea, no inkling of a clue how massive this movie was.

Sometimes you watch a movie and you see yourself as a character. You relate to them in such a way that it makes you emotionally connected with the characters.

I see pieces of myself in some of these characters. I am a lot like Cynthia in the way that I have always wanted to belong but was never accepted. I’m like Emma Stone’s character in the way that I am a journalist, passionate by my work I constantly find myself losing myself in my writing, wanting to make a difference.

Although these characters and myself come from different times, the main point is pushed through. That is love, kindness, passion and most important bravery and courage.

There is a piece of all of us in these characters. Although most of us don’t see it or refuse to.

We can all learn something from this movie.

I have never seen a film like this before. I have seen The Notebook, Dear John, A Walk To Remember and managed to keep myself together. But tonight I felt myself break into tears, sobbing hopelessly.

This movies is not incredible ,great or good as many will describe it. It is poignant, beautiful, moving, touching, heartbreaking and breathtaking and you will never see anything like it.

Just when you think you’ve seen it all.

The films incredible storyline is backed up by some of the best performances I have seen in so long. Viola Davis and Emma Stones performances were incredible and moving and brought me to tears over and over again and Bryce Dallas Howard did an outstanding job as the evil character.

I know I have said other films are a must see but this is defiantly a must see. This movie will move you to tears and leave you smiling when you leave the theatre. You will want to see this movie over and over.

Thanks Lauren
