Happy Birthday to Bryce Dallas Howard!

Photobucket
Bryce Dallas Howard turns 31 today! Most people know her as Hilly Holbrook from The Help. You know the one who ate a sh*t pie. Besides her turn as the 1960s b*tch, she was also the wh*re who cheated on Joseph Gordon-Levitt's cancer-ridden character in 50/50. And she was Victoria in Twilight: Eclipse. She hasn't always been bad though. In fact she was the original Gwen Stacy in Spiderman 3, who Emma Stone is playing this summer. Maybe she gave her some tips while working on The Help together.

(Bts Pic) Ron Howard Talks “Project Imagin8ion” Short Film "When You Find Me" #Sundance 2012

As part of Canon’s “Project Imagin8ion” campaign, two-time Academy Award winner Ron Howard and daughter Bryce Dallas Howard made a film inspired by eight user-generated photos, called when you find me, that recently screened at the Sundance Film Festival. Alternating between the past and present, the short is an emotional fable of two people coping with loss in very different ways, and what it takes to find peace within yourself and reconciliation with the ones you love.
How did your daughter end up as the director of this short?
HOWARD: I let everybody know that I couldn’t direct it, and they said that I could sponsor or mentor somebody. And then, the idea of Bryce [Dallas Howard] doing it was great because she had directed one short film, had just done a lot of acting, and was looking to direct something else. She’s also interested in moving behind the camera on a feature film level, at some point. And, I knew she’d be an interesting person to collaborate on this with. She has a different point of view and aesthetic than I do, and she’s another generation.
I just thought she’d be an interesting collaborator, even if she wasn’t my daughter, but the fact that she is made it pretty interesting.
And then, the Canon people were really true to their word about not trying to manipulate the process creatively, and really allowing it to be something that was very pure.
Was there a point that you realized that your daughter had inherited the directing bug from you, and it was something that she wanted to do, beyond just her acting career?
HOWARD: Well, she started directing plays in college and she enjoyed it, but she didn’t particularly express any great interest beyond that. And then, she made a short film about four years ago, and it was good. At that point, she actually began taking a lot of classes, in her spare time, in cinematography and screenwriting, and just deepened her understanding of the medium, and I could really see the difference. I visited the set a couple of times, but she didn’t need my help. She really understood the script and had helped shape it into something that reflected her point of view, her aesthetic and her taste. I think she directed a very poignant, beautiful, surprising, almost poetic short film.

'The Help' wins ... and wins again ... and wins again at SAG awards

Los Angeles (CNN) -- "The Help," a movie about the treatment of maids in a Mississippi town during the civil rights era, took top honors at the Screen Actors Guild Awards Sunday night, making it the movie to watch as the Oscar awards approach next month. Viola Davis won the best actress trophy, while Octavia Spence was given the best supporting actress honor. Both women portrayed maids.
"The Help" also won the best cast ensemble SAG award. "The stain of racism and sexism is not just for people of color and women," Davis said. "It's all of our burden, all of us." Davis' best actress win seemed to throw the Oscar competition into a frenzy, since she beat Meryl Streep and Michelle Williams, actresses who won Golden Globes two weeks ago. Spencer's supporting actress SAG award makes her a clear frontrunner for the supporting actress Oscar, considering she also won the Golden Globe.
"These women represent our mothers and grandmothers," Spencer said, referring to the maids portrayed in "The Help." "By honoring me, you're honoring them." Hollywood's awards season neared mid-point Sunday night with the 18th annual Screen Actors Guild honors -- the only industry awards that solely recognize performers.
The SAG actor trophies go to both television and film actors, and the winners are chosen by their acting peers.
SAG President Ken Howard also used the event to announce the actor union's board approved a proposal to merge with AFTRA, another acting union, pending approval of their memberships. In the television movie or miniseries categories, best actress award went to Kate Winslet for "Mildred Pierce." Paul Giamatti won best actor for his portrayal of Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke in "Too Big To Fail." "Modern Family" won the best ensemble cast in a TV comedy series for a second year. The show at the Shrine Exposition Center aired on TNT and TBS. Both TNT and TBS are units of Time Warner, the parent company of CNN.Read more at source

Bryce Dallas Howard welcomes second child, a baby girl

Bryce Dallas Howard gave birth to a baby girl, her father director Ron Howard revealed on his Twitter page on January 22. It is the second child for Bryce Dallas Howard, 30, and her husband Seth Gabel.
The couple has a four-year-old son named Theo. Howard and Gabel, an actor who is known for roles on "Fringe" and "United States of Tara," were married in June 2006. Howard is known for her roles as the vampire Victoria in "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," "Spider-Man 3" and "Terminator: Salvation."
She recently appeared in "The Help" and "50/50." Howard's pregnancy was first announced in May. In 2010, she opened up about the severe postpartum depression she suffered after the birth of her son in an essay for Gwyneth Paltrow's online newsletter GOOP.
The actress gave birth to Theo naturally at her home and while Gabel and her family reacted enthusiastically. But she said she "felt nothing." Howard said she had physical pain from breast-feeding and the birth and suffered "emotional amnesia." "I couldn't genuinely cry, or laugh, or be moved by anything," she said.
"For the sake of those around me, including my son, I pretended, but when I began showering again in the second week, I let loose in the privacy of the bathroom, water flowing over me as I heaved uncontrollable sobs." "Then one day, I was sitting in my home with my best friend and my sister, and out of nowhere, I got this sudden feeling of summer.
When I told them, they looked at me curiously and chuckled a little. I searched for a better way to describe my feelings, 'I dunno, I just got this feeling ... like everything is going to be okay.'" Howard's father thanked his followers for the kind words upon announcing the news on January 22. "Beatrice's arrival is hugely exciting for our family Thanks for all the kind tweets folks," he wrote.

Restless Movie Review May Contain Spoilers

imagebam.com imagebam.com
The movie Restless was written by Eclispe Alumni Bryce Dallas Howard.

The movie Restless centers around a terminally Ill teenage girl played by the extremely talented Mia Wasikowska. Mia plays Annabel who falls in love with a teenage boy played by Henry Hopper. The Boy's name is Enoch Brae. Enoch has a fascination with death and enjoys attending other peoples funerals. When he attends one funeral in particular he meets Annabel. The pair meet and fall in love.

So begins there story.

The films centers around her and him. She's dealing with dying and he is still dealing with his parents death. A deeply, emotional movie , that will leave you in tears. It is a unbelievable work of art and a incredibly moving movie that you wont forget. Mia Waskowska gives a impressive and breathtaking performance as a young teenage girl, terminally ill and dealing with dying and Henry Hopper a actor who I have never heard of definitively gives as deep of a performance as the young boy in love with a girl.

The great performances added with a great script makes this movie a must watch.

Bryce Dallas Howard Did a great job producing this movie. It is defiantly a must watch.

People: Bryce Dallas Howard Had To Get Doctors Note To Fly

imagebam.com

With her second child making his or her debut in a matter of weeks, Bryce Dallas Howard says her little one required a special request in order to make the red carpet.

“I’m just at the end,” the actress, 30, tells PEOPLE at the premiere of When You Find Me, a short film she directed and her father, Ron Howard, produced for Canon Imagin8ion.

“In order to fly here to New York, I had to get a permission slip from my doctor.”

Glowing in a bright yellow Max Azria dress, the expectant Howard says being pregnant won’t stop her from hopping around this holiday season.

“I’m actually going to be out of the country,” she says, explaining that her husband, Fringe star Seth Gabel, is working.

“I’m going there to be with him because it’s around the time of the birth,” notes Howard, already mom to son Theo, 4½. “The whole family’s coming with me.”

As for carrying around that baby bump, The Help star says c’est la vie.

“My first pregnancy I gained 75 pounds. I had every intention … I told myself, ‘I am going to be so fit this pregnancy,’” she laughs.

“But I have pound for pound been the same weight at every single milestone! I’m German — my body wants to carry like a tank. It is what it is.”
