Reality Check on Rob's Details cover:
The best-selling issue from the Jan/Jun 2010 rate base period, this sexy cover sold 67,000 copies…33% more than their overall average for the statement. It also sold 14% more copies than the same time slot in 2009. I’m sure the 10th Anniversary sky bar didn’t hurt the sale either.
According to ASME (American Society of Magazine Editors) copy, “Details wanted to, in the words of photographer Norman Jean Roy, transform Pattinson from “teen-idol vampire boy into a more adult version of himself.” To achieve that, creative director Rockwell Harwood decided to rent a gothic mansion outside of Los Angeles, hire several female models who were willing to spend an entire day naked and dress a 23-year-old British heartthrob in high-end designer clothing.” source via KStewAngel

Inside Details from Robert Pattinson Visit to “Ellen”
Everyone’s favorite vampire, Robert Pattinson, returned to “Ellen” this afternoon to tape an appearance that will air tomorrow.
Gossip Cop has learned some of the visit’s highlights from a source in the studio.
*** An audience member was blindfolded and instructed to “feel up” three guys to guess which one was Pattinson. She got it wrong.
*** Pattinson told the host he begins shooting Water for Elephants with Reese Witherspoon on Thursday.
*** He jokingly told DeGeneres he got a haircut because he had “nits.” She told him that Americans call them “lice.”
*** Also in jest: Pattinson said People magazine got it wrong — he’s more beautiful than Julia Roberts.
*** Will Smith gave Pattinson advice about presenting at the Oscars: “Don’t try and be funny.” Wait until you’ve done it 6 times.

Robert Pattinson: no one wants to see me naked
Twilight hunk Robert Pattinson loathes giving interviews so much that he recently offered to strip completely naked for a magazine instead – and had his request rejected!
The 23-year-old heartthrob, who sends fans into a tizzy wherever he goes, is notoriously protective of his personal life, particularly his rumoured relationship with co-star Kristen Stewart who plays Bella Swan in the vampire movies.
So it’s not really surprising he’s not the biggest fan of being questioned by journalists over and over – and made his hatred of interviews quite clear.
The star, who has also appeared in Harry Potter, is quoted by Metro saying: “If I didn’t have to do interviews I wouldn’t. If you just do pat answers to things, people get sick of you for it.”
The sexy actor, who offered to get his kit off for Details magazine rather than go through an interview, was politely rejected.
He said: “I offered to do a naked photoshoot – but no-one wanted to see me naked. It started off with me naked and they were like ‘actually, just forget it’.”

Robert Pattinson Isn't Allergic To Lady Parts!
The actor clears up his joke in Details magazine...
Well all knew Rob was joking when he claimed to be allergic to vagina's in the latest issue of Details magazine, but in case any of you Twiharders wanted to hear it from the man himself, here you are....
Speaking to Access Hollywood, the actor said: "I was just talking about this earlier. I was just saying like I had two lessons, don't try and make jokes in interviews and then the second one is like, just don't do interviews at all."
"Don't talk about vaginas, people are very sensitive about them... It's so funny... The whole story was because I thought people would be offended by the photos, and then they get offended by the little jokey explanation of it… I don't know, the world's a weird place."
In case you are living on another planet entirely, Rpatz posed with some naked ladies for the new issue of Details and was quoted as saying he “was not prepared” for the nudity.
We are sure Rob wouldn't be short of people offering to prepare him for another such shoot in the future...

Robert Pattinson Catching Heat For "Negroes" Comment
This week it's official: Robert Pattinson is back in the news. After a couple months of post-New Moon hiatus, Pattinson's back on red carpets and in the glossies as Remember Me gets ready to release (clip here). All this Robert Pattinson coverage thrills us, of course, but something he said in the 10th anniversary issue of Details is not being well received...
This was the same finger-licking feature in which Robert Pattinson posed with two naked women and then said he was "allergic to vagina." That didn't raise eyebrows (especially after he confirmed his Kristen Stewart romance over the weekend) as much as did a comment Pattinson made in conversation with the feature writer Jenny Lumet.
Lumet asks Rob whether he knows how self-conscious he is when he utters the word "actor": "Rob, did you know that every time you say actor or acting you lower your voice to a whisper?"
"I do?"
"Yes, so quietly it's like you're saying Negro."
Lumet says Rob laughs and lightens up. "What if we were acting like Negroes?" Then we'd be f-cked--we couldn't hear anything."
When I read the interview, I knew this would come up and I'm only surprised it took a week after the issue's release. A blogger at the San Francisco Chronicle wants to know what problem Robert Pattinson has with people of African descent: "No one should suffer the indignity of reading an interview with a major star and feel placed on the 'outside' of society because that star makes a statement that implies the 'other', or 'Negroes', are less than the mainstream in society ... It must stop."
In the context of the interview, it doesn't necessarily read as racist; although perhaps the interviewer's choice of metaphor to illustrate Rob's whisper was in bad taste. Of course Details must be happy for the soundbyte -- and we still recommend you read the interview. Nobody writes like this anymore.

More details on Rob's racy photoshoot
More details have just emerged about the sexy photoshoot with Rob in the February issue "Details" magazine. Gossip Cop shoots down the rumours circulating in the blogosphere and Twitter and says that there will be "no straddling shots. No lap dance shots. No simulated oral sex shots". Instead, Rob is "fully dressed" while the female models are "nude in some pictures", and the photoshoot will be “super sexy, yet tasteful”, with "an “Old Hollywood” feel to them".
Details magazine hits the stands on Feb 23 but some copies will be available few days earlier.
