Collider (..) the drama takes place in Texas in the early 1980s, during the rise of the PC era.  Lee Pace leads the cast as a former IBM executive who recruits an engineer (Scoot McNairy) and a volatile prodigy (Mackenzie Davis) to help him reverse engineer the new IBM PC.  It actually looks like it could be a swell companion to HBO’s new modern day comedy tech series Silicon Valley, but the period setting of Halt provides a hefty amount of promising drama to mine from the PC boom.

The series also stars Kerry Bishe and Toby Huss. Halt and Catch Fire premieres on AMC Sunday, June 1st at 10pm ET/PT

Official synopsis for Halt and Catch Fire:
“Halt and Catch Fire” is set roughly one year after IBM all but corners the market with the release of its first major product — the IBM PC. It is also the same year people realize that the IBM PC has a fatal flaw, which quickly makes personal computing anyone’s game. In this fictional drama, a former IBM executive, Joe MacMillan (Lee Pace), plans to reverse-engineer the flagship product of his former employer, and he forces his current company, Cardiff Electric, into the personal computer race. MacMillan enlists the help of Gordon Clark (Scoot McNairy), a once-great engineer who dreams of creating a revolutionary product while trying to manage his initially unsupportive wife, Donna (Kerry Bishé), and Cameron Howe (Mackenzie Davis), a volatile prodigy who puts her future in jeopardy to join MacMillan’s rogue PC project. “Halt and Catch Fire” thrives on the spirit of innovation and explores what it’s like to stand at the forefront of something truly great and world-changing and work toward it, no matter the risk.

Pace, who reprises his role as Thranduil in “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug,” recently co-starred in Steven Spielberg’s “Lincoln.” The “Pushing Daisies” veteran will soon be seen as the villainous Ronan the Accuser in Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy.”

Lee Pace (Garrett in #BreakingDawn) talks Bill Condon and Kristen Stewart!

Photobucket

I was wondering if you can talk about your role as Garrett in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2. Can you give us any details about the character? Is he one of the Volturi?

Lee Pace: No, I'm a good guy. I join Team Cullen. I'm only in the final movie. I play Garrett, who enters the scene in the last movie. I'm having a blast with it. Bill Condon is awesome. I mean, have you ever seen a movie of his that you didn't like?

Well, no.

Lee Pace: That's how I felt too. These movies are what they are. It's not my kind of movie, but I have to say, working with Bill and having him show me some stuff, it's totally my kind of movie. It's really cool. It's really cool and dark. He gets Kristen (Stewart) in a really great way. She looks incredible in the movie. She looks like a movie star.
