Rob Hugs, Hangs Out with Fierce Five Backstage at VMAs
Still coping with estranged girlfriend Kristen Stewart's cheating scandal, Pattinson appeared to be very friendly at the award show in Los Angeles.
MTV live streamed the "Talent Prep Cam" on USTREAM and Pattinson was spotted hugging each U.S. Olympic gymnast member of the Fierce Five -- McKayla Maroney, 16, Kyla Ross, 15, Gabby Douglas, 16, Jordyn Wieber, 17, and Aly Raisman, 18 -- and chatted with them for a few minutes backstage.
Looking handsome in an Alexander McQueen bomber jacket, Pattinson brought big smiles to the girls' faces as they shared a few laughs.
Douglas admitted to Entertainment Tonight in August that she has a crush on the Twilight star. "Yeah, I'm a big Twilight fan. I read the book like five times," she said. "I mean yeah, he's pretty cute . . . He's definitely my crush in Twilight."
The ladies also tweeted about their other celeb sightings at the award show, including Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Rihanna and others. "Had so much fun tonight at the VMA's with my girls it couldn't have been better!" Douglas tweeted. Ross agreed, writing, "Had so much fun tonight at the VMA's! Got to meet so many celebrities that I love."

ICYMI: Kevin Hart Defends Kristen Stewart at 2012 VMAs!
Kevin Hart urged the public to forgive Kristen Stewart for cheating on Robert Pattinson at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards.
The comedian presented the ceremony in Los Angeles, California and decided to "address the elephant in the room" by discussing her affair with Rupert Sanders.
The 32-year-old told the audience at the Staples Center: "Everybody's mad at Kristen Stewart for making a mistake. She allegedly messed around with the director of 'Snow White and the Huntsman'.
"If she did, so what? It's over. Move on. Look on the bride side, they're now a part of the seven dwarfs. You've got sleepy, grumpy, adultery, cheating."
The actress was caught cheating on her 'Twilight' co-star and real-life boyfriend of three years in mid-July.
Kevin continued: "The point that I'm making is this, if you made a mistake . . . so what!"
The star claimed that he would be making mistakes of his own hosting the show and went on to mention numerous mistakes the network had made in its history.
He said: "I'm going to make mistakes because people made mistakes before. Kanye West . . . Britney Spears and Madonna when they kissed . . . Russell Brand hosted - twice!"
The 2012 MTV Video Music Awards will air on Friday (07.09.12) at 9pm on MTV UK, Sky 126 and Virgin 311.Source
