Kristen Stewart Topless in On the Road: "I Think It's Awesome," Says Twilight's Nikki Reed
Nikki Reed isn't the least bit surprised that her Twilight costar Kristen Stewart went topless in On the Road.
It's not because she thinks her fellow Twilight starlet is some sort of closet exhibitionist, but...
"She's such a great actress and knows what she's doing," Reed, 24, told me at the MTV Movie Awards. "She's really excited about it. So if she's excited about it, I'm excited about it. I think it's awesome."
And Ms. Reed has similar high praise for K.Stew's latest box-office hit, Snow White and the Huntsman. She remembers Stewart, 22, talking about snagging the coveted role while they were filming the second Breaking Dawn movie.
Reed took her mom to see the film on opening day. "It's great," she gushed. "It was awesome. All the performances were super. It's really fun."
Oh, and get this—Reed is currently filming a "small role" in Empire State, a drama starring The Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth.
Did the so-called feud between the Hunger Games and Twilight franchises ever come up?

Robert Pattinson Wants to Sit in on Kristen Stewart's Sex Scenes?!
Who knew that Robert Pattinson is a voyeur?
According to Hollywood Life, the Twilight heartthrob is intent on being present when his co-star and reported girlfriend, Kristen Stewart , films her sex scenes for the big-screen adaptation of Jack Kerouac's classic novel On the Road—because he's fearful that something might happen between Stewart and her co-star, 51-year-old Viggo Mortensen.
A source tells Hollywood Life,
“Rob plans on being on the set of On the Road, not because he has a role in the drama, but because Kristen has a real risque part! There are a lot of sex scenes including a threesome, and Rob wants to make sure that it’s all pretend from the start and finish of the film.”
Mortensen will be playing the role of Old Bull Lee, based on Naked Lunch author William S. Burroughs. Stewart, meanwhile, is playing Marylou, a part based on LuAnne Henderson, the teenage wife of Neal Cassady (referred to as Dean Moriarty in the book/movie). And given that Marylou will be portrayed as quite the sexual libertine in the movie, R-Pattz isn't taking any chances.
The source adds,
“He’s very jealous. Kristen told him she didn’t want him on the set because it would make her feel uncomfortable, but Rob said he’s going to be there. Especially now that her scenes are with Viggo, who is very very hot! Rob is free until filming begins on the next Twilight film, so he’s got all the time in the world to keep an eye on Kristen – and he will.”
The source further notes that Pattinson wasn't thrilled with Stewart taking the role in the first place, because of all the sexual subject matter.

Kristen Stewart, now a household name because of the popular Twilight franchise, will be heading in a completely different direction with her next film project. Stewart will soon begin filming the movie version of Jack Kerouac's On The Road, the first film adaptation of the iconic 50's 'beat' novel and travelogue. This marks yet another departure from The Twilight Saga series in terms of Stewart's film roles. Aside from Twilight, she continues to choose more independent roles and projects such as Adventureland (2009) and The Runaways (2010). This year, she will be stepping outside of her Bella Swan character once again to play the role of Marylou in On The Road.

It is no small feat that Stewart has secured the role of Marylou in On The Road. This movie has been highly anticipated for years now, and finally it will be making its way to the big screen in 2011 by way of director Walter Salles. Stewart's co-stars in On The Road include Garrett Hedlund who is set to play her lover Dean Moriarty, Sam Riley who will play Sal Paradise, and Kirsten Dunst who will portray Dean's wife Camille. For Stewart, the connection to the novel is personal, as she has cited it as her first favourite book growing up. Not only is Stewart tied to the book personally, but for the universal reader it is also easy to picture her playing the character of Marylou. She is described as a stunning woman with a thin frame, blonde ringlets, and a passionate personality. Throughout the novel Marylou is unpredictable, loving, fierce, and a constant presence with connections to multiple characters. She is a young woman just trying to feel life and live that feeling.
The Role Of Marylou
In On The Road, Marylou is centrally tied to the two main characters - Dean Moriarty and Sal Paradise. It is her relationships and travels with these characters that shape the nature of the novel, and will certainly make a visually rich and dynamic storyline onscreen. As they travel around America on the road in search of adventure and thrills, it becomes clear that On The Road is about living life, and truly feeling that experience. The novel was formative in characterizing the term 'beat' and embodied that way of life. It's a term that defined a generation of breaking taboos, expanding beyond limitations, and a rejection of the material norms in society. As the characters of the novel literally go on the road in search of the elusive "it" feeling that Dean Moriarty describes, Marylou finds herself wrapped up in the jazz, the drinks, the bars, the people, and the all-encompassing beatnik revolution.
On The Road created cultural heroes in the form of its lead characters. This suggests that the film adaptation will be taken very seriously as many people will be comparing the book to the movie once it comes out. Once again, Kristen Stewart will be portraying an important role that defined a generation. Based on her performance as Joan Jett in The Runaways, it's clear she has the acting chops and personal sensibilities that are critical when stepping into the shoes of a musical or literary persona of defining proportions. The film saw moderate box office success but garnered Stewart a great deal of respect for her honest and heartfelt portrayal of Jett in a time of 70's sex, drugs, and rock'n'roll. Welcome To The Rileys once again sees Stewart tackling a difficult leading role as she plays Mallory, a young stripper whose life becomes entangled with a struggling couple who are dealing with the recent loss of their own daughter. Welcome To The Rileys is set for release in the fall of 2010. Kristen Stewart is On The Road
The 20-year-old actress confirmed to USA Today after her taping on Oprah that she’ll be playing Marylou in the film adaption of Jack Kerouac’s “On The Road.”
Kristen shared, “I am very much attached to a movie that has been trying to get made forever. Not that this is going to help it, but maybe I can just brag a little bit. I am super excited about it, too. I am about to play Marylou in On the Road. So that’s a big deal.”
The story is a largely autobiographical work that was based on the spontaneous road trips of Kerouac and his friends across mid-century America. Garrett Hedland and Sam Riley also star. Filming is expected to start this summer.
