Anna Brings The Blues to Japan
Anna was at Bluenote Tokyo promoting Up In The Air today which opens in their theaters March 20.
Wearing a chambray blue, strapless mini, which was belted in brown, paired with Sergio Rossi Scalloped Slingback Pumps, the gorgeous actress was a true Americana vision.

Anna Kendrick Excited to See Twilight Costars at Oscars
Sure, winning a Best Supporting Actress Oscar on Sunday would no doubt be pretty cool for Anna Kendrick, but seriously, does nabbing one of those gold guys really compare to the possibility of hanging out with your Twilight costars Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, who will both be there as presenters? Hello!
"I'm excited to see Kristen and Taylor!" the Up in the Air nominee told E! News at a Glamour magazine event in Beverly Hills when asked about her party plans after the big show.
Ah, nothing like a girl who knows what's important.

How Anna Kendrick Will Handle Oscar "Freak-Out"
Anna Kendrick was getting her beauty primp on (like she needs it) yesterday at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. Except, unlike Sarah Palin, this babe was all class as she perused through the free goods.
The best supporting actress nom certainly has a lot to be happy about right now, as she couldn't stop grinning at the pre-Oscar event.
The Up In the Air and Twilight darling was all smiles while she posed with fans throughout the evening and gushed about how flattered she was just to be nominated—a safe and familiar refrain. The kicker here is A.K. is so down-to-earth we totally believe her.
Anna, rocking a fierce white peacoat type dress, filled us in a bit on what her Sunday is going to be like as the now-hot actress makes her first debut at the Academy Awards...
You've already been to every awards show this season—Globes, Critics, SAG Awards—are you doing anything different to prepare for Sunday?
I pushed my hair and makeup and everything forward an hour so I would just have a buffer of time to freak out, where I won't have anyone touching me.
Smart move. Are you going to be talking with George Clooney, who is quite Oscar experienced, or the rest of the Up in the Air crew before you hit the carpet? Or do you need them out of your head before such a big night?
I don't know yet! I think we're all kind of...at this point we're so used to doing it as a team and together. It's easier to at least know what to expect because we're all going to be there for each other.
Such a cutie! Best of luck to Anna, George and the whole gang. While odds may be on Mo'Nique to win, don't count Anna Kendrick out—yet.

'New Moon' director Chris Weitz says he'll vote for 'Up in the Air' star Anna Kendrick for an Oscar
Just days away from the 82nd Annual Academy Awards ceremony, Up In The Air star Anna Kendrick can count on at least one sure vote for her for "Best Supporting Actress": her former The Twilight Saga: New Moon director Chris Weitz.
Weitz told People Magazine that he'd vote for her "because she's my homie."
Weitz also punned about the staunch sophistication of the Academy, saying:
"If only the Academy were composed of teenage girls, I might be looking at a Best Picture nom," he joked. "It's a scandal that there are not more teenage girls in the Academy."
New Moon wasn't altogether overlooked by the Academy, though. "Possibility" by Lykke Li was among the initial round selections for "Best Original Song" but it was not upon the final list of nominees.

USA Today Profiles Anna Kendrick
Cupcakes may be the of-the-moment dessert, but actress Anna Kendrick has loftier culinary pursuits.
"I get fascinated by specialty bakeware. I have a really nice springform pan and a bunch of really nice tartlet molds and madeleine trays," says the star of Up in the Air. "That's more interesting to me than just cupcakes."
Whipping up a few dozen cookies may be the only way for the supporting-actress Oscar nominee (and avid baker) to let loose these days, considering she's one of Hollywood's hottest actresses.
Kendrick is a supporting cast member in the wildly successful Twilight franchise and will soon shoot a comedy about cancer with Seth Rogen and James McAvoy. And, oh yes, she got to share the screen with Mr. Perfect — aka George Clooney— in Air.
Not that she cares or anything.
"He's really supportive and has been incredibly kind and really sensitive to everything that I'm going through, but it's not like I text him in emoticons or anything. That's not really something you do with someone who's 48 years old," the 24-year-old says.
Kendrick's uptight, anxious Air character, Natalie, certainly would not have been caught dead telecommunicating with a 48-year-old, hunk or not. But Kendrick says she holds a special place for her fictional alter ego, who may have initially rubbed some viewers the wrong way.
"I love her to pieces! You know, she was a nightmare, but I'll defend her to death," she says. "People don't really like her at the beginning of the movie, and they really warm to her when she kind of breaks down, but I really love her even when she's more or less an antagonist because she's really strong and really driven."
The actress sees parallels between herself and Natalie.
"I see the kind of control-freak thing and a desire to be taken seriously," she says. "Hopefully, that desire manifests itself in a different way in me than it does in Natalie."
Director Jason Reitman says that's certainly in the cards for Kendrick.
Natalie "is a young woman frustrated by her own brilliance. She looks a decade, two decades into the future and understands the challenges she has as a woman in the workplace. I see this in the character and I see this in how Anna plays the character, and I see this in Anna herself," he says.
He should know, considering he wrote the role of Natalie with Kendrick in mind after seeing her in the 2007 coming-of-age film Rocket Science. "In a strange way, she chose me," he says.
Earning an Oscar nomination caught Kendrick by surprise, and she says she's "thrilled beyond words" to be nominated with "talented and inspiring" women: Air co-star Vera Farmiga, Mo'Nique (Precious), Maggie Gyllenhaal (Crazy Heart) and Penelope Cruz (Nine).
Kendrick says she's taking the attention and focus on her future in stride, although her anxiety is readily apparent as she concedes to being "not super-cool" and "basically fashion-illiterate."
That's not to say she doesn't know what she likes, especially when it comes to maintaining normalcy in her hectic life.
"I am currently in sneakers, jeans and a big sweater, which I suppose is kind of my uniform — especially lately, because every day is, like, two different outfits that I can never wear again. I just want to wear my favorite jeans and my favorite hoodie all day."

Michael Welch talks about the Oscar nomination of Anna Kendrick
"Anna he deserves it. It has an uncanny ability to get under the skin of his characters " said Michael about the actress from "Up in the Air", Who plays Jessica Stanley in the movies "Twilight. "It looks really understand the mindset of the girls who played.
"It's almost as if it began with the cliches with which we are familiar, then builds the character to understand his point of view of the world, making it unique and personal and then taking them from the clichés to real people" he marveled. "His character created are familiar, but unique. It's extraordinary. "
Michael also revealed that he sent a text message as soon as he heard the news about his nomination. "I have not spoken to her directly about this, "He said, adding he hopes to be with her soon. "From what I know of AnnaShe is not in this for the awards and praise, just for the job. This, ironically, is why she deserves those awards and praise! "
Although Anna be the first star of "Twilight"In being nominated, Michael swore that she would not be the last. Can 'Up in the Air' win best picture at Oscars without an editing nomination?
Two years ago Oscar champ "No Country for Old Men" did make the cut with the editors, although Joel and Ethan Coen, under the pseudonym Roderick Jaynes, lost to Christopher Rouse for "The Bourne Ultimatum." And last year's best picture champ "Slumdog Millionaire" also won the editing Oscar.
All five of this year's editing nominees -- "Avatar," "District 9," "The Hurt Locker," "Inglorious Basterds" and "Precious" -- number among the 10 best picture contenders. Those best picture nominees that did not make the cut with the editors are "The Blind Side," "An Education," A Serious Man," "Up" and "Up in the Air."
Of these five, only "Up in the Air" landed a directing nod. And "Up in the Air" earned four other key Oscar nominations -- actor, supporting actress (2) and adapted screenplay. However, even surprise best picture winners like "Gladiator" (2000), "Shakespeare in Love" (1998), "Chariots of Fire" (1981), "The Greatest Show on Earth" (1952), "An American in Paris" (1951), and "Rebecca" (1940) had nominations in both directing and editing.
The first film to win best picture without even a nod for editing was "It Happened One Night." That screwball comedy swept the major categories in 1934 while "Eskimo" won the first Oscar for film editing. 1934 marked the first year that Oscar voters chose from 12 best picture nominees. The previous year -- when "Calvacade" won -- there had been 10 nominees while the year before that -- when "Grand Hotel" prevailed -- there had been 8 films in the running. For years two to four of the Oscars, five films had contended while the first year had just three best picture nominees.
In 1935, a dozen films were also in the running when "Mutiny on the Bounty" prevailed in the top race; the high seas adventure was also in contention for best editing, losing to "A Midsummer Night's Dream." The best picture race was then pared down to 10 from 1936 to 1943. In those eight years, all the best picture champs -- with the exception of "The Life of Emile Zola" in 1937 -- had at least an editing nomination. Only 1939 best picture winner "Gone With the Wind" also won the editing race.
Since the best picture category went to five nominees in 1944, seven films have won the top Oscar without an editing nomination: "Hamlet" (1948), "Marty" (1955), "Tom Jones" (1963), "A Man for All Seasons" (1966), "The Godfather, Part II" (1974), "Annie Hall" (1977), and "Ordinary People" (1980).
Of the nine best picture winners that went without an editing nomination, seven won best director and the other two had nominated helmers. "Up in the Air" director Jason Reitman did make the final five at the Oscars as did the helmers of four of the five editing nominees; Neill Blomkamp ("District 9") missed out on a nod.
The best director category has lined up with best picture 61 times over 81 years. In its first quarter century, the academy shared the wealth 11 times while during the last 56 years, there have been only nine occasions when the year's best director did not helm the best picture. However, three of those times occurred in the last decade, including four years ago when "Crash" director Paul Haggis lost to Ang Lee for "Brokeback Mountain."
While "Crash" did win the Oscar for editing, only 40 of the 75 editing awards have gone to best picture winners. From 1934 to 1952 (the academy’s silver anniversary) these awards lined up only twice. Since then, 38 of the 56 best picture winners were also the best edited though just five of the last 10 top films have managed to win both awards.
And in the last decade, only three best picture winners -- "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" (2003), "The Departed" (2006) and "Slumdog Millionaire" (2008) -- took home both best director and best editing.

Roger Ebert predicts 'Twilight' and 'Up in the Air' star Anna Kendrick will receive Oscar nomination
Yep, that's right: Anna Kendrick.
Kendrick (who portrays "Jessica Stanley" in The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) has definitely been vetted by a critic or two for her work as "Natalie" in Up In The Air over the past few months, and Ebert's assessment of her potential for film's highest honor is due, he says, to the fact that she is "so young and earnest in the same film."
Anna Kendrick has been nominated for a great many awards over the past few months, including a SAG Award, a BAFTA, and a Golden Globe.
Of course, her most formidable competition at these shows has been Precious star Mo'Nique, and Ebert predicts that she, too, will receive a nod from the Academy.
With the Oscar nominations announcement coming down next week, speculation on this matter will soon become reality.
The same is true for other Twilight-related nomination opportunities (not the least of which is Lykke Li's "Possiblity" from the New Moon soundtrack, which was an early entry for "Best Original Song"), so Tuesday's nomination news will certainly be something for Twilight fans to watch for!
