Kristen interview with 15-20 Magazine (Mexico) Scans & Translation

We had the chance to talk to Kristen Stewart at the Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles. When she walked into the room, she took off her headphones and shook our hands. She’s even cuter in person than onscreen. Her hair is still dark and short from playing Joan Jett, her eyes stand out and her skin is pale but perfect. She’s thin and she’s dressed very casual: white tank top, tight jeans. She pays complete attention to me as she smiles friendly and openly. We’ve spoke about it before, but in this third movie we want to know what she likes about Bella:

“I had never heard of the books before knowing about the project, and to be honest I didn’t have time to read the script the first time they sent it to me. I wasn’t impressed with the synopsis, I thought it was shallow and not vey believable, but I ended up reading the script and loved the story right away, I really wanted to play Bella.”

After accepting the role in the movie, Kristen read the books to prepare for the character: “I read all the books and I love them. But before filming Twilight I only read the first book. The movies are very faithful to the books, so we have a lot of material to work on, you want to know what your character is like, who she is, where she’s going, but not too much. As an actress you can’t forget, or not know something once you know it, I don’t know if that makes sense”.

She makes a pause and chooses carefully her words: “Many things happen to Bella in this saga. I wanted to stay in the moment in every stage of the story. Reading the books is such a vicarious experience. It’s easy to see why so many girls like these books. It’s because you’re Bella whn you’re reading them. I think people can relate to what she’s going through and they live these moments through her”.

Her favorite book is New Moon: “In the first book, she thought she had found true love. I liked seeing her feeling evolve and reconsider everything she thought she had with Edward, who was gone.”

In Eclipse Bella goes through many challenges, especially with the love traingle. We asked her how she feels with the way her charate developes in this saga. Again, she takes her time to answer. We have the feeling she worries a lot about her character and her role in the story.

“It was interesting to explore how Bella deals with different levels of love and how what she thought in the past could’ve changed or maybe not be real at all. Bella is very honest deep down, I really think she is, and this is the first time she lies, she lies to herself and everybody around her, by maybe considering she loves Jacob. And she has to face the fact that the love fo him is not as strong as the love for Edward. Edward and Jacob are mortal enemies, so their actions and choices take meaningful implications for them, for the Cullens, for the wolfpack, and for herself.”

Making these scenes was not hard for Kristen, despite the actors being very different from each other, as well as the characters: “It wasn’t that hard, actually. this is our third movie and the characters and their motivations are very well established, so I just let it take me where it wants me to go. I think it works because we know each other perfectly, we’ve grown together, and the experience with each other as actors, and playing this characters is something that you can see. There’s certain comfort when we see each other again for filming.” she assures with a laugh.

Besides being a romance, Eclipse has more action than it’s previous movies. The Cullens join forces with the wolfpack in a war against the newborn army started by Victoria.

What physical challenges did this bring to you?
She laughs again: “Unfortunately, I didn’t do any of the action sequences, and I didn’t do my own stunts. I was carried by Taylor during most of the scenes” we both agreed that being carried by a half-naked Taylor

Lautner wasn’t so bad, could it be?
So then we asked her about the challenges of working on a greenscreen when Taylor’s character appears to be in wolf shape. “It’s definitely a challenge as an actress, but I think it’s more recommendable to not joke around before filming scenes like these because it can break your focus. The worst thing a director can do is say: ‘I know it’s weird, but I need you to do it. You have to take it seriously and do it”.
She adds: “There’s a scene where Jacob is in wolf shape and I’m supposed to be talking and patting him, so Taylor stood there with his special suit so I could film the scene and make it more real. That made it easier for me”.

What can our readers learn from Bella and her story?
“They should experiment with different relationships and discover things about them along the way. At that age, your feelings are not necessarily being taken seriously, so they should see for themselves what matters to them, like Bella did, and make their own decisions. Bella risks everything, but I think it’s wonderful that she owns her actions and deals with the consequences”.

Time is up and Kristen has been very open through out our interview, but before we leave we ask her if she’s planning to do other things besides acting: “I love what I do. It seems like I work all th time, but I really enjoy it. I think I’ll go to college in the future. I love writing and I love reading words. We’ll see”.

New Interview: Robert Pattinson ‘fearful’ of ‘Twilight’s’ end

Photobucket
LOS ANGELES—ROBERT PATTINSON usually arrives at our interviews with an easy, sly grin on his face. The smile reminds us that we’re in for another humor-filled talk with the guy.

What was different this time was his haircut—cropped on the side—which made him look younger.

In this chat, Robert talks about his anxiety over the coming end of the “Twilight” series, how he feels about the kissing scenes between Kristen Stewart’s Bella and Taylor Lautner’s Jacob, and a life-changing moment, among others.

Robert has come a long way from the first time we interviewed him on the London set of “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,” in which he played Cedric Diggory.

Below are excerpts:

What are you looking forward to about “Breaking Dawn” being shot back-to-back as two films and of Bill Condon directing them?

I’m glad that it’s Bill Condon. I love his stuff. I haven’t seen the script yet but I am fearful about the series’ end. It’s such a great security blanket. It’s like a net. You can afford to make mistakes when you have another “Twilight” film to make. After that, I guess you’re on your own.

I’m glad the “Breaking Dawn” films will be done together. Because otherwise, it’s quite hard to fit another film in-between each one. Like what happened in “Eclipse”—having to get your mind back to where it was before. I had about a week of preparation time. It was quite stressful in the beginning. With the two films done together, you can just stay in character the whole time.

In the tent scene which is already the much talked-about thing in “Eclipse,” your vampire character is of course cold, body temperature wise, while Taylor’s Jacob drives home the point that he’s literally hotter.

It’s sort of an odd scene. It’s quite difficult. It’s incredibly depressing for Edward (laughing). It does make him seem incredibly unattractive. But I never really got it in the first place. It’s like having some freezing cold person next to you (laughing). It’s horrible.

Taylor told us that you were always cracking up in that scene.

I was in a very strange room when we were shooting that scene (laughing). I kept getting obsessed with the idea of the word “thoughts” with an American accent. It sounds like “farts.” I couldn’t get over it the entire day. The opening line was, “Can you at least keep your thoughts to yourself?” I’m sitting in this tent and every single time, I laugh over that line. Taylor got to the point where he was like, “Those words don’t even sound the same. It’s not funny at all.”

I think I was tired. I find all this stuff where we have to boss each other all quite funny. Considering that we’re in teen-girl magazines and stuff … Taylor always has his shirt off. And I’ve got my little quaff (laughing). We’re trying to act all macho. I thought it was really funny.

Talk about the dynamics between the three of you now that Jacob gets to kiss Bella in this movie.

It’s weird. Not only do they do the kissing scenes—they never do it when I am even on the set. I have the day off. You genuinely feel like someone’s cheating on you. Then you come back to the set. And almost always, it’s after one of their scenes where I suspect them of doing something. It just so happened every single time—I would come into work being like, “So how was it?”

Can you set the record straight—your Edward character is a 100-year-plus-old virgin?

I think he’s … how old is he now? He must be 109 or 110. There’s an arguable point with another vampire in Alaska from the first book. It’s briefly mentioned. But I can’t remember if it’s actually fully explained if he is a virgin or not. I think the fans like to believe he is.

Since these “Twilight” films are fantasy/romance/thriller dramas, may I ask which love stories inspired you?

I have to sound really cheesy and say my parents. My parents met when my mom was 17 and my dad was 26. They’re still together. I grew up in an age where everybody gets divorced.

But in terms of film, I’ve always liked despairing, painful love stories. I think that’s probably because I’m still young. There’s a Godard film called “First Name: Carmen.” I’m not even going to attempt to say the French pronunciation. I always found that to be one of the most truthful and inspiring love stories I’ve seen on film.

How uncomfortable is it to be acting with contact lens on?

You can’t feel properly. You can’t sweat. If you do anything to sweat, everything starts breaking on your face. You can’t even psyche yourself up for a scene. I don’t know how people do scenes with contact lenses on. I just find it impossible. The Edward character is about restraint and restricting yourself about everything. He’s not a very effusive person. A lot of the performance should be done with your eyes but then you eliminate that ability by putting the contacts on. Whenever I do other movies in which I don’t have to wear contacts, I breathe a sigh of relief.

In “Breaking Dawn,” you become a father and Bella becomes a vampire bride. Do you have tips for Kristen on playing a vampire? Do you feel that you’re mature enough to play a dad?

It’s funny because I’m playing a dad in some scenes in “Breaking Dawn” and I’m portraying one in a movie I’m doing now as well. I’m terrified about doing it. I don’t know what I’m going to do when it comes to those scenes. I’ve been complaining so much about having the makeup on and contact lenses. Kristen is like, “You’re so pathetic. You have to just get over it. Why can’t you just get used to it?” [Now, since Kristen has to wear contact lens, too], I can finally be like, “You will know what it’s like. You’re going to be in constant aggravation the whole time.” Which is great.

We don’t see a lot of guys like Edward who protects a girl’s virtue. Do you relate to him at all? How old-fashioned are you?

I think I’ve become more old-fashioned. I feel like I’m already turning middle-aged now (laughing). It’s quite nice to be doing a series of films that a lot of people think uphold positive virtues. Some people actually think the films are a good influence on their kids.

Stephenie Meyer was on the set of “Eclipse” more often than she was on the first two movies. What was that like?

It’s not intimidating. She’s really nice. She really likes the films. It was strange, though. I didn’t really notice until toward the end of the filming. I was like, “Stephenie has been here every day” (laughing). It was interesting. She’s always open. She would never really come in and push anything on us. She was open to answering questions.

You have a western genre film project, “Unbound Captives,” in development. Why are you fascinated with westerns?

I grew up watching westerns. My dad’s favorite movies are all westerns. I hope that film happens. It’s such a complicated film to get together because it’s not really an action film or anything. It’s a slightly depressing romantic drama, half of which is in Comanche. It will definitely be different. My character is a massive stretch for me.

You play the guitar. How important is music for you?

It’s really important. Incidentally, my sister is a singer and a songwriter. Acting has helped as well because I’ve never really had any particular interest. The only reason I’d start releasing records is hopefully so I get a name in music and have good people who would want to collaborate with me. I guess having a name in acting, you can get your foot through the door with quite a few musicians. I hope I’ll be able to record some stuff just for myself. The idea of selling it—as soon as you start making it—it dies in a lot of ways. It’s too scary at that point. Then everyone feels the need to judge it. But if you’re not making money and you’re doing it for yourself, then no one’s going to judge it.

“Twilight” is very popular with young people, including Jaden Smith. What kind of books and music did you like when you were a teenager?

I was obsessed with a writer called Martin Amis when I was a teenager. I read everything. Every single time I went to a bookshop, I’d see if he has other books. I used to buy multiple editions of his books.
Martin, Van Morrison and Jimi Hendrix—they were my people when I was growing up. I’d obsessively collect all their stuff.

That’s funny about how Jaden likes the “Twilight” thing. He’s like the first guy who’s willing to admit it (laughing).

What has so far been a life-changing experience for you?

My moving to secondary school. I was kicked out of my first school. There is a whole system of the schools in London where I went from one school to another and then to university. Everybody went to the same schools. But I got kicked out. I ended up going to an arts school which was probably the best thing that ever happened to me.

Why were you kicked out?

Secret (laughing).

Kristen's Interview by 1Live- Germany

She is currently one of the hottest teen idols of the world. Wherever she is, her fans are screaming themselves powerless. Kristen Stewart has just turned 20 years old and an international superstar since people could see her for the first time as Bella Swan in the movie "Twilight".

The second part of the Saga, "New Moon", was an even greater success and now "Eclipse", the third installment. On her promotional tour in Europe 1LIVE reporter Tom Westerholt met Kristen Stewart in Berlin to talk to her about the new movie and the "Twilight-hype" and its exciting jet-set life. A good-humored, petite young woman in jeans, white shirt and sneakers greets me in her hotel room with open, slightly disheveled hair and a pleasant little makeup on her face.

1LIVE: Kristen, since you played in the "Twilight" movies, you belong to one of the superstars. But you are acting for years, for example 2002 "Panic Room", as a small daughter of Jodie Foster. Since she was the only superstar in the movie, how was it like?

Kristen Stewart: Yeah, I was very lucky that my first experience with it...to be an actress...are associated with her. She treated everybody as we should treat people on set. Not everybody is doing that. She only makes what she loves and is fully behind it. She is an absolute role model, I've already said it back then: I want to do it the same way.

1LIVE: You were twelve years old, who were your heroes, who did you idolize as millions idolize you today?

Kristen Stewart: To be honest I have never idolized someone, I've never been like that. I have three brothers. We did a lot of sports and stuff, been hanging out with the guys. And I have played drums when I was younger...so I never had any idols. I do cry at concerts if it's great, I once cried horribly at a Van Morrison concert. That was kind of an obsession.

1LIVE: The fans are obsessed with you, no matter where you show up, which is especially the case for Robert (Pattinson, plays her film-lover, the vampire Edward Cullen). How do you back out when it gets too severe?

Kristen Stewart: It is never "too" severe. No, not really. More in specific moments when I stand on stage in front of that incredible crowd and that energy knocks me down. Then it got me and I can not hide it. It seems like I want to get away real quick but its not like that at all. I was just overwhelmed by the situation, but actually I had fun.

1LIVE: Like at the MTV Movie Awards? Robert and you needed to constantly return to the stage, you guys won like all available prices the other day.

Kristen Stewart: You feel kinda weird. I mean, this is a fan award and all the fans have clicked so that we win all the prizes. But its the books that they really love. It is of course nice to see that they like our interpretation in the movie, but I still think that this has nothing to do with me. It is the character Bella, so I don't see myself as role model or something.

1LIVE: Apropos: What is with those who do not like your films? There are almost as passionate anti-fans as fans, what do you think why is that?

Kristen Stewart: On the one hand as I have said, the fact that they dont like our interpretation. These are the fans of the books that have their own pictures in their head. Even we actors, the directors on set have that. We are and werent always agreeing on everything. You just cant. And then there are of course people who are against everything which a mass of people like a lot.

1LIVE: An example?

Kristen Stewart: Lets take the Jimmy Kimmel show where we were recently invited to. There have been many crazy fans and Jimmy started to make fun of Justin Bieber, who has also just so many crazy fans as we do. So just like that Jimmy asked, whether Justin Bieber should be in the next "Twilight" movie and the people freaked out and screamed "No!" Because of that you could realize the different fans. People can get really frightening and aggressive.

1LIVE: Who keeps you on the ground when the fan madness is raging around you?

Kristen Stewart: Well, my family. I have a great family and my parents are in the industry and therefore know all the dangers and traps that you can tap into. I'm lucky. Before I loose the ground, as you say, they would grab me quite quickly. But it is not only their experience, they are just great people. And if you love what you do, then you better not start going crazy. Because if you do, in the end you might loose everything.

1LIVE: That sounds pretty considerate and role model function...

Kristen Stewart: Oh you know ... the truth is the fans are not really looking up to me, they are looking up to Bella. And that's good, because Bella is definitely someone you can look up to, I'm someone else. When its really about me, I say: "Fine, your decision." I'm just young and I want to make movies. I have absolutely no desire to use my status as a celebrity for anything. I want to make movies and that means that I have to deal with the fame.

1LIVE: It must be not that easy to meet guys right? I mean, could your three brothers help you dealing with guys anyway?

Kristen Stewart: Well, a relationship with your brother is something different than someone for whom you are interested in. When you come into that age, the relationship with your brothers changes in a different way, its quite interesting. When we were little, I felt somehow all four of us as equal. And then later, when I came into the specific age, I had to make clear announcements. According to the motto: You can no longer treat me like that because I'm a girl!

1LIVE: Well you definitely have come to that age and you have experienced at lot of things in front of the camera: Including kissing in front of the cameras.

Kristen Stewart: What's next?

1LIVE: You have - at least for the shooting - make out a several times with Robert Pattinson and in your new film "The Runaways" you made out with your co-star, Dakota Fanning. Who is the better kisser?

Kristen Stewart (grinning wide and hesitated with the answer, author's note): Yeahhhh... Who is the beter kisser? Dakota, of course! (Laughs). No, of course, Robert. No, but Dakota. Uhhmm, I can not decide ...

Movies.ie Interview with Charlie Bewley

Photobucket
Charlie Bewley didn't know what he was in story for when he signed up to play Demetri in the Twilight Saga. He hadn't read the books, instead he relied on female friends to give him tips on how to play the character in the book. He talked to us recently about the new Twilight Eclipse film and the upcoming Breaking Dawn sequel.

What is your favourite part of being involved with the Twilight Saga?
CB: The best part about Twilight is that it opens so many doors, career wise, it really does. Both in publicity and further support in new films and stuff. I have had so many great opportunities since coming on board with this film.

Had you read the books before you did the film?
CB: No I hadn't, no. I had to get a network of females to whip together Demetri's information and with that I went into the audition - with all the information that was out there. But obviously, having got the role, you need to educate yourself as to what's going on.

Were you aware of how popular the books and films were?

CB: I hadn't heard of the books before the film came out. When the film came out I just remember that scene of Rob [Pattinson] putting the dent in the car. It didn't look like the kind of movie that I would be interested in. I remember someone saying oh my god, I have just seen this film, and there is this guy in it and every time he comes on screen everyone just shuffles around in their seats" and then I realised that this was an inherent thing in women, that they really like this guy. Then from there, maybe four months later they started casting and by that time I did kind of understand this Twilight ‘thing' going on, but it wasn't anywhere near as crazy as it was by the time New Moon started filming. Then I really understood, having researched online, how big the interest in the new cast was and I was now part of this thing, then I really understood this was a huge thing that was happening to me.

Were you nervous at joining an established cast?

CB: Any experience I go into, I go in with a bit of anticipation more than anything else, because I want it to live up to everything that I hope it will be, but I don't think I was, at any point, nervous, but the first scene, when we started shooting, that was quite a strange thing to happen to anyone - it was the elevator scene. We were all cramped together in the elevator and these guys, you don't know them, you have only just met them and know them from magazine covers. So yeah, it is very strange, but you have got to lock yourself down, concentrate on your job and do it that way. Everyone was really accommodating.

Were you prepared for the crazy fans?

CB: Clearly there are crazy fans, and nowhere crazier than Brazil, let me tell you! Was I prepared for it, yes, but I had never experienced it so I didn't know what it was going to be like. It's pretty nuts. I was in Birmingham for a convention and the fans really stepped up their interest in characters so it is becoming more and more personal with these fans. It's wonderful, it's a little part of this thing, it's something that I embrace rather than fight off. The fans are Twilight essentially, so give them as much as you can... Within reason!

What can we expect from the movie, Eclipse?

CB: Eclipse is my favourite book because it is so raw, it focuses on the very primal urges of vampires and the newborns. I'm expecting from [director] David Slade - who is great at capturing the moods of vampires - a very raw thriller kind of movie.

Your character Demetri is a tracker. What vampire power would you choose?

CB: There is no substitute for pace, and I was always told that as a rugby player. Vampires are very very fast so having insane speed is something that I have always been obsessed with. In Eclipse we do certain gravity defying manoeuvres so I would probably go for one of those as well. It would be cool to journey around the world via flight rather than walking on the ground. Flying is something that I have always wanted to do. So if vampires can fly, yeah, gimme that!

How do you prepare to play a vampire?

CB: Well you focus on what their basic instincts are. You don't think ‘Ooh I'm a vampire!' it's just what you are. It's like me going around thinking ‘Ooh I'm an English man'. It's not the way you work, really. You think, what do vampires do and that's survive on human blood. The job that I do as a vampire is that I am a guard for what is essentially the mafia of their world so that's just my job. You don't go around thinking, ‘be evil!', in fact just the opposite, Demetri has all these insane powers, but I get to play a charming, very charismatic vampire. The way I prepared Demetri was to play him charming, and that's all the more unnerving for someone watching.

What do you hope you will remember from the whole experience in five years time?

CB: I think Twilight will have a huge legacy, I don't anticipate, after Breaking Dawn, the wave finishing there. I am sure there will be spin offs and maybe more books being written. Maybe in ten or fifteen years I will look back at it with huge fondness that it was the huge springboard that I took into my career that hopefully, takes me the places that I want to be. I'm so glad to be a part of this thing, I am so humbled. It's created financial freedom for me, which has allowed me to pursue my creative dreams without limitation. I will always be thankful to Twilight as a series in my life because of that. As for the character that I play, I really hope I can take things from him and take it into other characters. Demetri is a character that I am massively enamoured by. It's a shame, he is a much deeper character than some of the other characters out there in the mainstream of Twilight. I hope I can take that forward and hopefully take it into other characters I play.

Twilight Eclipse is now showing in Irish Cinemas

Eclipse Cast Interview with Antena 3 - Spain -

Antena3 CullensNews

Kellan Lutz At Frühstücksfernsehen - Interview - Germany

*You know about biting. Where does a vampire usually bite a girl, then?
K: Usually, in that area. but it isn't that important. we can bite at the body everywhere and the transformation starts.

* But you're vegetarian, aren't you?
K: Mostly. Mostly. of course, my role would like to break the rules but we're vegan vampires which means we don't rush at people but I like to fight with bears because we bite animals and I play with the bears and then eat them of course which is nice.

(clip)
*We've just seen this action scene which is so cool. All this, ist this real? Cause this is crazily difficult.
K: David Slade is our director and he didn't want to make a film where you have to let the camera go faster so that it looks somehow as if we would run quite fast. And what he did is a new way to think up of technology. if we run 10 miles/h, a truck drags us which drives 30 miles per hour and then, of course, it looks as if we would run 40 miles per hour. And this between the trees. This looks fantastic.

*You have just mentioned him. the director is primarily proud of you because you do all action scenes yourself. Isn't this extremely dangerous?
K: It is. it is at the Twilight films. I love action scenes generally. It's really fantastic for me that I can do this and I wanted to show that I can.

*I've also heard you do less dangerous sports. You do yoga.?
K: Yes. I show it to you at once. This is very important. I never had enough time to do this correctly but of course yoga is good. you can have massages. Of course you have to must look, that one keeps you fit. A whole temporal approach of the physical fitness. and I raise very heavy weights. it is very important because of this that I remain flexible.
Yeah, that was for Calvin Klein.

*wow, obviously one can see that you exercise much. What was actually there first? The model or the vampire?
K: well .. eh..no. I've always been a vampire.

*But weren't you afraid of vampires as a child were earlier too? They looked quite terrible then.
K: I've always loved them. Already as a little boy, I had quite many brothers who hit me together. so I was more afraid of my brothers than of vampires. Vampires are my friends. I have knocked the black cape over me and have dressed up as a vampire to Halloween. everything i had was
this big black coat and then I have fixed my teeth. I love vampires.

*Probably, he's really one[vampire]. but well, if they look just like Kellan the ladies won't have any problems. You were at the Fashion Week here in Berlin. For Calvin Klein. What was it like?
K: I loved it. The models looked terrific and the clothes were excellent. The presentation was fantastic and the fans were also incredible. And then there was the soccer match of course which we also have enjoyed. This was really nice.
Thx.

*Beautiful good morning. We have seen him as Emmet in the following. How does it feel to be sex symbol, Hollywoodstar and vampire in one?
K: Oh, thank you. I don't consider myself as one of these three. I like to play a vampire. I have grown up with that. it is somehow a child dream to have supernatural strengths anyway. I love my role. He[Emmet] loves this live, he lives into the day and this Hollywoodstar-thing, I don't know, I was so glad and I am so happy that this has worked with the acting for me because that's extremely difficult at the moment in LA. it is awesome to have work and be part of a thing, where one then has also so many fans and which is accepted so well. And ..well..Thank you.

*He is just modest but he doesn't have to be at all. This is an unbelievable action film. You have already said this is also a film for men. If one looks up the lathe works, the regisseur says: He's physically so fit. We throw him 7x into the water. Tell us which challenges you had to withstand.
K: This was already what. I love action movies which is Eclipse actually. We have made Twilight and then the 2nd part [New Moon] which was a little more for girls. A lot of romance. Eclipse is coming now. This is my favorite book from the trilogy. This is also more for the guys. If you've seen the trailer, you can see the action between the werewolves and the vampires already there. I don't want to betray too much but it's a fantastic film and David Slade is an excellent director who had us made quite many on our own. We had a lot of stunttraining and could shot the scenes. the most difficult was the water.

*I have seen the girl part [New Moon] and found it quite good. I have always wondered who gets Bella? Is there also a love scene with you to which we can look forward?
K: Ah, if I would be so lucky. Bella's role is fantastic and I support her very much.of course we can dance and fight also with grizzly bears. It's so much fun being a vampire. I really like to be one. the relation between Bella and me...yes, we squabble a bit and just have fun.. she simply plays this excellently.

*many colleagues of mine who like Kristen wanna know how is she private?
K: She's amazing. Really. She is so sweet and independent. You can't find this so easily LA, because LA tries to form people, wants make something else out of them. and Kristen is and she remains just herself. It's an honor to be allowed to work with somebody like her. I love her work. She is really a unique friend.

*I am curious what she'd say about you if she's here at one time. But I'm sure she already knows that you are a sex symbol. Among other things it is due to this [Calvin Klei campaign]. As a man, either you can say: 'I look just the same' or ' I never be like this'. as a woman you look anyway. You're a model and this[CK campaign] is for underwear. You also have taken part in the Fashion Week in Berlin. Of course this is connected to a hard training. What do you do to look so?
K: I swim a lot. I love to eat candy, because of this, on the other hand, I have to work out. I have a personal trainer. I eat quite much fast food late in the evening.. Of course I must let this remain. and simply leave out the whole sweet stuff. however, because I love sweet stuff my personal trainer has helped me very much to keep and to get fit.

*Thx for being here, Kellan Lutz.
K: thanks.

Daily Mirror Interview with Taylor Lautner

He began his Twilight journey with a small role in the first film. But now for some, 18-year-old Taylor eclipses Rob Pattinson in the heart-throb stakes. While his two co-stars speak their mind, Lautner, with his big white-teethed smile, always says the ‘right thing’. Today, his bulky body is hidden by blue jeans and a black tee. He settles down for a catch-up, all embarrassed by his ‘hottie’ status…

By Lauren WilliamsWere you expecting all this fan hysteria when you first signed up?
It’s funny, but I hadn’t even heard of Twilight before I did it. And it is getting bigger and bigger. When I signed up for the role I found out the following behind us, it was so much bigger than I expected, and it is definitely different to anything I have and ever will experience in the future, I’m sure.

Have you got used to being so famous?
You actually never do because it’s just not normal to walk out on stage and have thousands of people screaming at you.

How do you avoid attention?
You have to be smart about where and when you decide to go places. Walking down Rodeo Drive in LA is probably not a good idea. I find certain hangouts where I know I can have fun, enjoy it and it’s also a safe place to be.

Do your mates take the p*ss?
Everybody teases me about the shirtless thing and my little jean shorts. It’s all good, though.

What have you been spending your money on?
It is tough to go shopping when you are busy. You don’t want to purchase something extravagant, because you are just going to leave it behind. One thing my parents taught me is to save my money because you never know what is going to happen. Tomorrow you may lose everything! My parents have been a big help. I make sure to have them on set to visit because it does get lonely, filming for three months, so I like bringing home to wherever I am. My friends visit quite often. I usually have someone there. I am never there by myself for too long.

IndieLondon: Twilight Eclipse Cast Interviews

Photobucket

Interviews by Rob Carnevale

NEWCOMERS Booboo Stewart and Xavier Samuel talk about some of their experiences of shooting the latest Twilight movie, Eclipse.

Booboo also reveals his weirdest fan experience while Xavier reveals why Stephenie Meyers’ latest novella, The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner, also proved helpful (and violent).

Q. How did you get involved in Eclipse?
Booboo Stewart: I was actually involved with the Walt Disney Group a long time ago and had some friends from that. A friend called me and said there was thing on MySpace about the casting of the character Seth in the next book, so we talked about it a bit. Luckily, I got in for an audition and I was the last to be seen in the country for the call-backs. So, thank God I got the part. Everyone always asks if I had to act like a wolf, but I didn’t. I don’t think I would have gotten the part if I did.

Q. And Xavier?
Xavier Samuel: Well, I auditioned from Sydney, actually. And then I flew myself to Vancouver to meet our fine director, David Slade, and had the privilege of meeting with him. Then I had a call-back in Los Angeles again, and I think I had enough time to rush back to Sydney, grab some clothes and then we started shooting. It was all very quickly.

Q. Xavier, did you get to read the new Twilight book, The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner, as you were preparing for the role of Riley?
Xavier Samuel: I did. It was actually under lock and key and handed to me in person by David Slade. It was kind of water-marked with my name on every page, which was kind of intimidating. If I’d lost it, I’d have been in big trouble. But it was wonderful, because it really informed the world as it’s particularly concerned with the relationship between Victoria, Riley and Bree. Riley isn’t as present in the Eclipse book, so it was kind of a goldmine of information and actually really violent as well.

Q. Booboo, do you have a favourite book in the series?
Booboo Stewart: Yeah, right when I thought I might have an audition I started reading them so I’d know the story. But my favourite book is Eclipse, because it has the most action.

Q. What’s the craziest fan experience you’ve had so far?
Booboo Stewart: This one fan came up to me, when I was doing a promo, and she was like 40-years-old and she turned to me and asked if I wanted to make out. It was one of the most weird things that has ever happened to me in my life.

ASHLEY Greene and Nikki Reed talk about some of their experiences of shooting the Twilight franchise, including the latest movie, Eclipse.

They also talk about training regimes, hanging out with fellow cast members off-set and their subsequent travel experiences.

Q. Can you believe, looking back to the first film, that this franchise has become what it’s now become?
Ashley Greene: No, I don’t think any of could have predicted how big this would become. I certainly understand why it has, because the book series is incredible, and it kind of takes you into this while other world. But I think at the time we were doing Twilight, it really had this independent feel to it and we were just really happy to be working on a project. I think each time we’re very pleasantly surprise at just how passionate the fans are and how excited they get over this.

Q. Nikki, you have a back story in Eclipse where we find out a lot more about Rosalie. When you’re doing the first two movies and you know this is going to come up, is it frustrating thinking I’ve still got a while to go before people can actually find out about my character?
Nikki Reed: Well, I was hopeful when we made the first movie that we would get to the third, otherwise I’d feel like I couldn’t really justify my behaviour. Also, Stephenie wrote these really complex, dynamic characters and sometimes I think all of us can agree – as the Cullen family – that you don’t really have the opportunity to show that. So, you want to make the most out of every moment that you have and you’re and like over-thinking everything: every glance, every smile, or, in my case, every nasty look. So, I was really happy to have that opportunity… and really nervous.

Q. You’ve been able to travel all over the world as part of the Twilight franchise. So, what’s your favourite city? And why?
Ashley Greene: I think at this point I really enjoyed being in Montepulciano in Tuscany. It was just absolutely breathtaking waking up every morning and being able to look out. The way of life there is very different to anything I’ve ever experienced in the States. I really, really enjoyed it. But that’s coupled with the fact that I have really, really great memories there when we were filming New Moon. I have a lot of fond memories.

Nikki Reed: I’ve done a lot of independent travelling, which hasn’t been the best career choice, but it’s been a really great life choice. I lived in Russia for a bit and I spent all of last year in Athens and in Switzerland. I went to Africa for a few weeks of adventure. I can’t choose which is my favourite, but I’m going to Brazil I think next.

Q. Do you have a favourite book in the series?
Nikki Reed: I’ve read all the books and I love them all for a number of reasons. I remember when we were shooting the first Twilight, when we were in rehearsals, I was making my way through the series and I was almost done with New Moon and I remember panicking that I couldn’t find Edward. I remember running around set going: “Where’s Rob? I just want to see Rob for two seconds because it’s going to feel really comforting to know that Edward is still around!” Regardless of what you’re original idea is of the books, everyone gets so sucked into the series… they’re just like magnetic.

Ashley Greene: I think my favourite book to read was probably Twilight; my favourite book to film was Eclipse, though. I think I had more fun on that set than I have on the previous ones. The action packed stunt fight training was really nice. It’s always nice whenever we get to inter-act and be playful with each other because a lot of the time you see us with pained looks on our faces, so it was really nice to be able to have a lot of inter-action with everyone.

Q. What kind of diet and physical regime to did you have?
Ashley Greene: There was lots of circuit training, lots of competitions. We did some really fun competitions, too… like we tried to see who could do the circuit in the least amount of time. It was tonnes and tonnes of fight training, which was actually fun because it kept us in shape. But it was very cool as well because we had to learn different choreography and stuff. And then, at that point, you could eat whatever you wanted because we were working out so much.

Nikki Reed: It was very physically demanding. I remember getting off the plane and looking at my schedule and it said: “I hope the cast brought sneakers… tomorrow you’ll be picked up for training.” No one told us about this and we weren’t prepared for this [laughs]. Every single day, if we weren’t shooting, we were in training for two or three hours a day, and then we were in personal training. Luckily, I had actually quit smoking about three of four weeks before we began rehearsing! I don’t know what I would have done otherwise because we literally felt like athletes. It was like sleep, train, eat, sleep again. And that was the day. But it introduced me to a whole new lifestyle because, to this day, I still work out all the time.

Q. If you could have a special power, what would it be?
Ashley Greene: I think immunity. I think not being able to be affected by anyone would be pretty cool.

Nikki Reed: I don’t know. I don’t want any powers. I’m powerless. I wouldn’t want to see into the future, I wouldn’t want to know what anyone was thinking, ever! And I don’t want to relive my past. Kellan and I talk about this a lot… but his power is strength. I enjoy feeling physically strong, so maybe I’d like to be able to lift a building and launch it at someone.

Q. If you could switch roles, who would you choose and why?
Ashley Greene: I think I would choose Victoria. She’s such a departure from Alice, who’s so sweet and has this innocence about her. I think it would be really fun to play the evil character.

Q. Do you get chance to socialise much off-set?
Ashley Greene: Yeah, we do. Surprisingly enough we all like each other. So, we have cast dinners and play the telephone game. One cast member calls three people and someone else calls three people… we do a lot of game nights. A lot of the cast members are also musically inclined, so we have jam sessions and just kind of hang.

IndieLondon: Kellan Lutz and Alex Meraz interview

Photobucket
KELLAN Lutz and Alex Meraz talk about some of their experiences of shooting the Twilight franchise, including the latest movie, Eclipse. They also discuss why the franchise is so popular and some of their craziest fan experiences.

Q. Can you believe, looking back to the first film, that this franchise has become what it’s now become?
Kellan Lutz: You tend to fall in love with your characters, which is very unique. For myself, I love Emmett and I love playing him, and its going to be sad when you close the chapter to each book because it’s been a huge part of our lives. We’re like a family and have built this semi unit on and off set. But it’s really a blessing to be part of a franchise that allows you to continue on to do the sequel and to make the third book into a movie. Eclipse was my favourite book to read out of the series. I’m really impressed with the action and the mix between the love stories. I haven’t seen the movie yet and I can’t wait to see it tonight, but it’s really exciting to finish something off like this.

Q. What is it about this series that audiences love about vampires, mysticism and the undead?
Alex Meraz: I think you said it, love. At the root of every great story is a love story. There’s definitely elements of fantasy within the werewolves, shape-shifters and vampires, but at the end of the day it’s grounded in reality and there’s the love story. I think everyone can relate to that. They know how it is to feel unrequited love, jealousy, revenge, loyalty, having to make choices… I think this film definitely covers all that.

Q. Can you tell us a little bit about the training you went through for the fight scenes in Eclipse?
Alex Meraz: We did what’s now called wolf camp. We did muscle confusion…

Q. Muscle confusion?
Alex Meraz: Yeah, it’s confusing! It’s like circuit training. But more than anything, what it helped to do was just bond us. We got really comfortable around each other and there are scenes when we’re just goofing off the whole time. We couldn’t tell when the camera started and when it was called “cut”. So, we were always having a great time. But it was a fun experience. But the workouts at wolf camp were kind of forgettable, I guess. I had been working out a bit before because my background is in martial arts and dance. So, it was a pretty organic process to go in there and taking my shirt off.

Q. You’re so involved with the franchise, do you still feel you can enjoy the films in the same way as everyone else?
Kellan Lutz: I think that’s the fun of it. We know the secrets when we shoot scenes and you know what happens behind that fake set, or if that really wasn’t where it was. The memories come back. I know when I watch something that I’m a part of, or stuff that I see my other cast mates in, you just get that little hint of something extra, which is really kinds of dear.

Q. What’s the craziest fan experience you’ve had?
Alex Meraz: I think it was last year, when we were promoting New Moon, we did this big Q&A in Los Angeles and the whole cast was behind this cage and all the fans were there. Everyone else was sort of turned away from the fans, and I was the only one doing the whole prom thing and waving. And then I saw this fan with a bouquet of flowers and a teddy bear, and she was like: “Come here!” In my mind, I was thinking: “Oh, she shouldn’t have…” So, I go up to her and she was like: “Give it to Kellan!”

Q. And Kellan?
Kellan Lutz: It’s really unique for the fans and what the go through. I remember one fan… we were doing autograph signings because we have amazing fans who want our autographs, which is quite a unique place to be in. But she asked for an autograph and asked if she could take me home. So, I was like: “Yeah, yeah, what’s your name?” But then she yanks out this big old pair of handcuffs. I was like: “Hey!” And she was sneering. I shared that story right after Twilight came out and then when I was doing the circuit for New Moon, another fan was like: “Hey, remember that story you said?” I was like: “Yeah…” And she pulled out these fuzzy ones and then she said: “I have something for you!” And then she undid her jacket and had a real nice number on. I was like: “Hey!” It was really cute. But they’re cute… there’s no other way to explain this love that they have for this franchise.

Q. You’ve been able to travel all over the world as part of the Twilight franchise. So, what’s your favourite city? And why?
Kellan Lutz: Mine would be the Dominican Republic – the people there, the dancing, the food… just the culture itself. A lot of people don’t have much there and they’re so thankful. When I went there, I found this inner happiness within myself that I’d kind of lost. You kind of lose it when you’re in the States and you have so much opportunity. But then also the nature there… I’ve never see dragonflies this big and the waterfalls so pristine. It’s a very romantic, beautiful place.

Q. Do you have a favourite memory from shooting Eclipse?
Kellan Lutz: For myself, it involves Jackson Rathbone and myself… We had some fun times with our fight scenes and our little oopsy daisy moments when I hit him and knocked him out a little bit! But he was a true trooper. He got up and started gurgling his words and mumbling… but then also off set, he’d just finished The Last Airbender, so he’s become a mischievous little Jackson lately. He thinks he can just take the world on, so we’d get into trouble off-set and there were some really great times doing that.

Q. If you could switch roles who would you choose and why?
Kellan Lutz: I think James from the first book. I think that would be a really fun role to tap into. I’d grow my hair out.

Q. If you could have a special power, what would it be?
Kellan Lutz: What I enjoy about my character is not only his strength but the fearlessness that comes with it. When you view life and the world on such a fearless level, you kind of just live a happy life. So, that’s what I enjoy about Emmett. So, for a power that would be great.

Eclipse Premiere: Wyck Godfrey and Stephenie Meyer (YT)

A BTS look at the Battle training scene in 'Eclipse' (Video - Article + New Still)

If you’ve seen The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, odds are you left raving about the wolves — particularly the scene in which Jacob, in wolf form, saddles up to Bella during the training sequence. It’s one of the moments Phil Tippett — a two-time Oscar winner for Jurassic Park and Return of the Jedi whose visual effects house, Tippett Studio, handled the wolves for both Eclipse and New Moon — is most proud of. “That was an unusual thing for us in that most of the time, we are doing these ‘god awful animals start tearing each other apart,’” Tippett told us recently, phoning from England where he’d just celebrated Ray Harryhausen’s 90th birthday. “So it was great to have a quiet moment. A tender scene that telegraphs a budding and suppressed relationship was tricky. In fact, the entire training sequence was difficult in that the wolves do nothing. A bunch of wolves standing around watching vampires train and trying to portend some kind of anxiety was tricky. It’s tricky for any actor when you have to carry a certain part of the scene where you do nothing, because you have to figure out a way of filling up the nothing with something.”

It was important to Eclipse director David Slade that Taylor Lautner actually film that scene with Kristen Stewart so she was able to establish eye contact with him instead of with a golf ball that could’ve been used as an eyeline and painted out later. The wardrobe department dressed Lautner in a neutral grey leotard and hoodie — primarily so his skin tone wouldn’t bounce back onto Stewart and create lighting issues when Wolf Jacob was added, Tippett says. We, however, like to believe someone was already thinking about the DVD extras. That will be great, won’t it?

The tender moment was made more challenging by the fact that Slade had a different vision of the wolves than New Moon director Chris Weitz. For starters, Weitz wanted the wolves to have their actor’s eyes. “He kind of wanted the performance to feel like the wolf behavior was being filtered through a human brain,” Tippett says. Slade wanted the wolves to have wolf eyes to de-anthropomorphize them. “David wanted the performances to be more feral, twitchy, and agitated. He wanted to see wolves that were more photographically representational, which had to do with things like getting more hair follicles, making the paws smaller.”

The believability of the wolves was equally crucial in the climactic fight sequence with the newborn vampire army. “We had to come up with a rationale for what happens when a 1,300-pound wolf that’s running 35 miles an hour crashes into a newborn vampire [played by an actor that weighs 165 lbs], how we justify that,” Tippett says. “David allowed us the transgression of saying, ‘Well, let’s just say that the newborns, since they’re not made of human material but some kind of a more marble-like material, have an actual mass of something like 500 pounds, so they have a lower center of gravity.’ And that allowed us to begin thinking about how to make all of that palpable, without thinking that they’re existing in two different physical universes.” Watch a clip of how that action gets put together below.

Which wolves did you prefer: New Moon‘s or Eclipse‘s?

Interview: Twilight Actress Kristen Stewart Steps Into The Light

Photobucket

There can’t be many actresses who are as unassuming as Kristen Stewart. She may be a household name, thanks to her portrayal of Bella Swan -- a girl whose affections are being fought over by a vampire and werewolf in the Twilight franchise -- but Kristen isn’t one to play the fame game. In fact, she just seems embarrassed by it.

Fiercely private, her reticence to reveal all about her personal life has earned her a reputation for being sullen and uncooperative in interviews. But, it turns out, this has more to do with plain old nerves than a difficult disposition.

“I’m comforted by knowing what my next few days are going to bring me and that’s what has initially scared me about press because you never know what you’re walking into,” says Kristen.

“Like right now, I have no idea where the conversation is going to go. I’ve always been like so, so terrified of that, it’s completely rendered me incapable of even doing it.”

The small and slight 20-year-old is dressed in a red-checked shirt and skinny jeans; the sunglasses propped on top of her head revealing striking green eyes (in Twilight she wears brown contacts). The only trace of cosmetics is her black nail varnish, but then there’s no need for a face full of foundation when you boast perfect, pale skin. She’s like a real-life advertisement for the bottle of Fiji water from which she swigs throughout the interview.

“I love making movies and I want people to know about them,” she continues. “So I might be shy and that might make me seem weird to people, but it’s not going to stop me from doing what I love to do.”

The faintest of smiles crosses her lips, but she continues to shake one of her legs up and down, suggesting just how uncomfortable she’s feeling. It’s an improvement on press junkets of past when she was rendered near mute.

“You have no idea,” she says, laughing at the mention of this. “I actually feel normal.”

For those who have remained immune to the Twilight phenomenon, the film saga is based on a series of novels by the author Stephenie Meyer. It’s told from the viewpoint of l7-year-old Bella, who moves to the small (and perennially over-cast) town of Forks, Washington, where she promptly falls in love with Edward Cullen; a 109-year-old vampire trapped in the body of a beautiful teenager.

Edward is played by heartthrob-du-jour Robert Pattinson -- the man Kristen is reportedly dating in real life. The ‘are they, aren’t they?’ dating conundrum has only served to exacerbate the Twilight-mania, with showbiz blogs dissecting the pair’s body language and public interaction in minute detail.

Kristen isn’t about to confirm her relationship status, but she’s aware what’s being said.

“I am so aware of it,” she stresses.

“Because I’m like such a control freak and because I have to talk about it all the time and I’m directly asked about it,” she adds, then pauses. “Like, if I’m ever asked about something and I go, ‘What are you talking about?’ Like that’s the worst feeling in the world because you’re completely caught off-guard.”

Currently on a world-wide promotional tour for Eclipse, the third instalment in the Twilight saga, Kristen says: “Nobody had any idea that we were even going to make a sequel.”

“The success of the books grew in an insanely quick amount of time with the growth of the movies. Initially we were really excited by the fan base that we had because it was going to be a cult phenomenon or whatever but not a global phenomenon.”

Twilight, the first film, was released in 2008, followed by New Moon last year, which saw a reluctant Edward leave Bella in the hope of saving her from a life with vampires.

Having spent most of the last shoot acting ‘bereft’, Kristen welcomed the action-packed Eclipse.

“Bella’s much more industrious in this movie,” she says.

“She’s called upon to actually deal with things that don’t necessarily have an emotional drain on her.”

Amid the action is a burgeoning love triangle between Bella, Edward and Bella’s best-friend Jacob, who was revealed to be a werewolf in New Moon and played by, a predominantly shirtless, Taylor Lautner.

“Basically, I’m still being hunted by vampires, but the biggest problem in my life is being able to acknowledge that there are different levels of loving someone,” says Kristen. “I must admit to myself that I am totally in love with my best friend, but just not as much as my real, true love, who obviously is Edward.” She pauses. “For me, Eclipse is about growing up and making decisions and realising that the choices that you make aren’t necessarily instinctual.”

Yet the actress admits that many of her own decisions are based on instinct.

“I guess I go from the gut, which is how I’ve chosen every movie I’ve ever done,” she says. And it’s never failed her. “It’s not like I’ve had a life changing experience on every movie I’ve done, but I’ve taken a lot from every day of work I’ve ever done so that’s worth it.”

Born in Los Angeles, Kristen’s father is a TV stage manager and her mother a script advisor. “I’ve grown up around it so I can’t imagine doing anything else,” she says. At the age of 11, she starred alongside Jodie Foster in Panic Room, but, Twilight aside, Kristen’s film choices of late have been low-budget independent and intelligent movies, such as Adventureland and the up-coming release, a Joan Jett biopic The Runaways, in which she stars alongside her Twilight co-star Dakota Fanning.

“The job doesn’t change depending on the budget,” she says. “If you’re doing it for the right reasons then none of that should matter to you. And I’m not doing the small movies in between just to do something different; I’m doing them because I’ve got lucky enough to really love the characters that have been presented to me.”

And she has Twilight to thank for that. Asked how her life’s changed since becoming Bella, she says: “I can’t really go to malls anymore, obviously, but that’s not like a huge sacrifice.

“The biggest change is that it’s put me in a position to be able to make choices as an actor and that’s really rare for anybody. Usually you do what you get, it’s a hard business and so that’s what Twilight’s given me, it’s given me indulgences as an actor.”
