'The Twilight Saga: New Moon: The Movie Board Game' (review)

Here's a review on the New Moon board game from Twiexaminer:

"Recently released is The Twilight Saga: New Moon: The Movie Board Game by Cardinal Industries.

You might recall the wildly popular Twilight Board Game issued by Cardinal Industries earlier this year (in March), and, if so, you'll know that this is one game that can involve many, many players.

The object of the game is to collect all eight of the New Moon scene cards and reunite Bella and Edward (by collecting all of the Bella and Edward cards). The way the game is played is that everyone gets a player piece (a crest) and moves around the "figure eight" board by rolling the dice. At each landing, a chance to collect a scene, Bella, or Edward card surfaces. Typically, a player will have to answer a trivia question or fulfill a challenge to win that round.

Now, the challenges are quirky. They are loosely based upon the nature of the various characters and the situations that the characters are put into in New Moon. For instance, one challenge is as follows:

Bella goes to Port Angeles with Jessica to see a movie. Everyone writes down the last time they saw a movie in a movie theater. Guess which player saw a movie in a theater most recently. If you are correct, you complete the challenge.

The trivia questions, on the other hand, are at times surprisingly difficult! A lot of these are based around the additional stories told in the film (which is, of course, yet to be seen).

What animal appears in Bella's dream, pacing in the corner of her bedroom?

You can probably guess what type of animal would appear in Bella's dream(s).

In any case, the trivia questions tell a lot about what The Twilight Saga: New Moon has in store for fans, so it's rather fun to parse out what information is new.

All in all, a decent game. A criticism might be about the flimsy nature of some of the pieces and the cards while a compliment might be about the vast nature of the variety of questions and challenges offered in the game. Also, it is positive that as little as two and as many as eight players can participate in the New Moon board game. Finally, it is a fairly simple game to catch on to, and it is certainly faithful to the New Moon franchise both in appearance and substance. Some examples of a few favorite game play cards are featured below in the slide-show, but there are hundreds of them in the New Moon board game.

You can find the game at Amazon, Walmart, Target, and other stores."
