Examiner: Popular baby names included Twilight

Photobucket
For the past couple of years, some of the major names associated with the Twilight Saga have been among the most-used for babies, and this year is no different.
In 2009, Isabella and Jacob were the most popular baby names of the year, and Edward and Cullen were also making notable rises (and there were even a few Rensmees born that year in the U.S.). In 2010 , Isabella was the top girl name again, and Jacob came in as second.
Then, the Chicago Tribune did a great article on the matter, noting Twilight likely had at least some impact on the popularity of these names, considering this has happened with other instances of pop culture in the past, like Friends or Buffy or Bewitched.
This year, Isabella was reportedly the third most popular baby name for girls, while Jacob was the fifth most for boys. Other Twilight-affiliated names were also among the top ten for boys, including Jackson and Mason.
Whether or not the Twilight Saga is or ever was the primary reason for the choices of these names, it is fascinating to watch the ebb and flow of their popularity, right?
