Mark Reaches $1 Million in Funds Raised

NEW YORK, MARCH 7, 2012 — /PRNewswire/ -- As National Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month comes to a close, m.powerment by mark. in partnership with the Avon Foundation for Women, announces a total of $1 million in funds raised since its inception in 2008. m.powerment by mark. is dedicated to breaking the cycle of dating abuse and partner violence and provides grants to agencies across the country that bring awareness to the cause.

m.powerment by mark. raises funds through products including the Have a Heart Necklace, Linked to My Heart Bracelet, and Power of Change Necklace. 100 percent of net proceeds are donated to the campaign to help raise awareness and funds in support of the cause.

m.powerment by mark. recently provided a $100,000 grant to loveisrespect.org, a unique partnership between Break the Cycle and the National Dating Abuse Helpline that helps teens and young adults ages 13-24 navigate the spectrum of healthy relationship behaviors. The grant helped create the first-ever loveisrespect.org National Youth Advisory Board, a group of 24 dedicated members who provide critical support to loveisrespect.org and help spread the word about the cause.

On February 1st mark. Brand Ambassador Ashley Greene attended the loveisrespect.org "Louder Than Words" event in Los Angeles to kick off National Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. Ashley met with key members of the National Youth Advisory Board to gain a better understanding of the issues teens face in relationships and spoke with attendees about m.powerment by mark.'s commitment to the cause.
