photo Kstewartfans_KCA_2013__48__zpsa521e531.jpgVariety Kristen Stewart was attached to also star in the pic but when Smith became engaged in the project, Stewart fell off with the feeling that the age difference between the two would be too large a gap.

GossipCop Will Smith may replace Ben Affleck in Focus – but possibly not alongside Kristen Stewart.
Nearly four months after the Oscar winner left the project due to a scheduling conflict, Smith is said to be in “final talks” to take over Affleck’s role.
And, as Gossip Cop previously reported, Stewart was set to star in the movie, playing a young woman who teams up with a veteran con artist.

But while Variety says Smith has been cast in the older role, Stewart is reportedly out of the project.
The studio wants to find an actress closer to Smith’s age, says the outlet.
Gossip Cop has reached out to reps for confirmation.

eonline It looks like Kristen Stewart is following in Ben Affleck's footsteps.
The actress no longer plans to star in the comedy Focus, E! News confirmed Wednesday amid reports that Will Smith is in talks to take over the role vacated by Affleck in December.
There was some question as to whether Smith would then be Stewart's costar, but we're told that she actually dropped out of the project months ago.

THR Kristen Stewart is no longer set to star in Focus, a Warner Bros. heist project being directed by Crazy, Stupid, Love helmers Glenn Ficarra and John Requa. And as Stewart exits, the project could be landing a male star in Will Smith.

Video: Ben Affleck Talks About Kristen and Focus

"Basically I'm doing this movie called "Live By Night" and I'm trying to meet this schedule... so that I can have it released at the right time," he explained at the event where he picked up a Special Achievement in Filmmaking award for "Argo." "And basically I haven't gotten enough writing done; it became clear that if I took that job — it was in Buenos Aires for three months — I'd have to miss the deadline. I had to choose between getting the movie out when I wanted to or doing that movie. Reluctantly I chose the latter but I love those guys, I love Kristen. I was really excited to work with her. I think the movie is going to be fabulous. I'm sure they'll find a great guy for it."

Kristen Stewart in 'Focus' with Ben Affleck

Variety Warner Bros. has brought its female lead into "Focus," as Kristen Stewart is in talks to co-star with Ben Affleck in the con artist movie that "Crazy Stupid Love" helmers Glenn Ficarra and John Requa will direct from their own script.
Denise DiNovi will produce the story of a veteran grifter who partners with a girl who's new to the life.
Warners has been looking to launch this project for some time, eyeballing Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone to reteam with their "Crazy Stupid Love" helmers. When those plans fell through, the studio moved quickly, grabbing Affleck as he was deciding on his follow up to "Argo."
With "Snow White and the Huntsman" hitting at the global box office, "The Twilight Saga" franchise coming to an end and "On the Road" opening in December, Stewart picked a high-profile time to decide what she would do next.
"The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2" opens Nov. 16.
Stewart is repped by Gersh.
