Grazia article on Kristen Stewart in the Runaways
Rock ‘n’ roll fans rejoice! Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning have formed an all-girl super group! Well, kind of; the pair are starring in a new music-fueled biopic, ‘The Runaways’ about the 70s rock group of the same name and the film is on its way to a silver screen near you!
Stewart plays lead singer Joan Jett, who was only 17 when her band hit the big time, and ever since much fuss was made about that raven shag of hers (a drastic chop which 'Twilight' bosses offered “ridiculous” amounts of money to avoid), we’ve been itching to see it in action. So after a US release earlier this year, at last us Brits can enjoy the sight of K-Stew away from that sparkling vampire posse and dripping with punk-pop attitude. Yes! Plus, her formidable co-star Fanning has staged quite the transformation of her own - from adorable to edgy for her role as the Bowie-esque Cherie Currie (my my, hasn’t the little girl grown!).
So why not whet your appetite with the UK trailer that’s just been released and prepare for high-waisted leather trousers teamed with mega platforms, kick ass 70’s teen rebellion, girl power galore and a LOT of pelvic thrusting:
Wowsers! This leaves us asking oh-so-many questions. Like, will K-Stew and D-Fann do the iconic cult heroes justice? How will the Twihards cope with seeing their beloved Bella Swan as a hardcore rock chick? And (whisper it) could that mullet steal the limelight from Robert Pattinson’s gloriously coiffed mop?! Get yourself to a cinema on September 10th to find out!
