THR Director Peter Sattler, Kristen Stewart and the cast of Camp X-Ray reveal what it was like to shoot in a rundown prison. The actress also recalls bumping into Robert Redford at the festival. "He was like, 'how you doing?' And I shook his hand and he was like 'are you nervous?' and I was like, 'yeah, I'm sh--ting my pants,' and he was like, 'good it would be weird if you weren't.'"

Kristen Stewart Makes THR’s Women In Entertainment Power 100

Kristen Stewart’s successful post-Twilight Saga trajectory was underlined today as she made the cut on The Hollywood Reporter’s 2012 Women In Entertainment Power 100 list.
Coming in at number #50 in a tie-in with Silver Lining Playbook’s Jennifer Lawrence and The Iron Lady’s Meryl Streep, the 22-year-old was hailed as one of the trio’s ”Box office Queens.”

"Stewart, 22, changed the Hollywood status quo when the Twilight franchise proved that females have as much clout as fanboys. The five films, including The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 2, now in theaters, have grossed more than $3.1 billion worldwide to date. And, like Lawrence, she has greenlight power. Stewart’s other 2012 film, Snow White and the Huntsman, earned $400.3 million worldwide thanks in part to the support of her Twilight fans. She’s next in theaters in the Walter Salles indie On the Road, which opens in select theaters Dec. 21."

Kristen Stewart makes The Hollywood Reporter's Power 100 Women in Entertainment

Twilight Saga star Kristen Stewart was one of the few actresses to make The Hollywood Reporter's power 100 list for Women in Entertainment in 2012.
Stewart ranked fiftieth on the list - a spot shared with The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence and the unconquerable Meryl Streep.

Also of interest, Summit Entertainment marketing guru Nancy Kirkpatrick made the cut as well at number forty-one.
Kirkpatrick was interviewed for the feature and reflected on both the studio's involvement with the Twilight fanbase and her respect for Kristen Stewart.
"When do you ever get to do something like that at a studio? It was so much fun ... And these aren't 17-year-old girls, these are women," she explained. "We really felt like we were doing something that hadn't been done before -- building a franchise at an independent studio built on the backs of females ... Working with a female fan base is great. With Batman, there was always drama with the fans ... I've still never experienced anything like it. The decibel level was incredible. I remember Kristen came off the stage shaking because it was so overwhelming. She was a baby then ... I always kept a mother's eye on her and am so proud of the way she handled everything since Twilight began."

New Portraits + Interview of Stephenie Meyer and 'The Host' Cast in THR 25 Most Powerful Hollywood Authors

Meyer learned a very valuable lesson after reading an early script for Twilight that featured guns, nightvision goggles and speedboat chases: Set ground rules before signing away your rights. Meyer is grateful the Paramount/MTV Films project ultimately didn’t get made. When the rights reverted to her, she thought, “OK, I’m taking this home, and no one’s ever touching it again.” But a call from Summit’s Erik Feig (since named Lionsgate’s president of production) changed everything in 2007. “He said, ‘Please, we’ll do anything,’ and he let me come up with a rider where I wrote all these things they couldn’t change,” she recalls. Among the requirements: No film deaths that didn’t match the books. With The Host, set in a dystopian future where human bodies have been invaded by aliens, Meyer faces the unique challenge of penning the novel’s sequel while serving as a producer on the $44 million adaptation of the original story, directed by Andrew Niccol (Gattaca). Open Road Films might be hoping to achieve the same success as Summit’s $2.8 billion-grossing Twilight franchise, but Meyer’s prediction might disappoint. “I don’t expect anything to be like Twilight again,” she says. “That was such a weird experience, and to have everything be so crazy and bizarre, the fanaticism — that’s just not normal.”

HR: Were you at all scared about how The Host would translate to film?

SM: So many people had a hard time with that. The only three people I think who weren’t ever worried were me, Nick Wechsler, the producer, and Andrew Niccol, the director, because we all are like, ‘No, it’s obvious, totally obvious. You just need to have the most brilliant actress in the world and you don’t have a problem.’ And we got her, so we were really lucky. Saoirse [Ronan] is amazing. When you have an actress of that caliber, especially when not everybody knows who she is yet, I think she’s going to blow people away. And then you give her this concept role, it’s like a gift. She just loves to be able to do it and watching her -- oh my gosh. There’s this one scene that has no music, it’s a close-up of her face for five minutes and you cannot look away. I mean, tears streaming down my face the first time I saw it. It was unreal.
